Hotellet (byggt på 70-talet) var i stort behov av renovering både utvändigt och invändigt. Servicen var långsam. Beställde man dricka till maten så hade man nästan ätit klart innan den kom in. Man fick vänta på madrasser och handdukar för solsängarna till klockan var närmare 10 AM. Bad i havet provade jag en gång och det fick räcka. Väldigt långgrunt och mycket sjögräs vilket man inte kan skylla hotellet för. Jag hade ett superior rum för 9000 KSH/natt och halvpension vilket var ganska ok. men jag skulle välja ett annat hotell en annan gång. Carl-Johan som stod för bokningen

What used to be a beautiful hotel it's now looking tired and needs a little love no coffee/tea making facilities in the room . Went half board but food was mediocre , ordered a drink only to be forgotten about twice got the drink ourselves would not stay again .

I stayed here a few years ago and have fond memories of my stay then. It seems the rooms and facilities need updating as the rooms had no hot water except in the morning, the phone and television did not work in one of the rooms and the bed sheets looked old. Management needs to invest more in the upkeep of the rooms and facilities to keep people coming back. However, location is excellent and food is good. The staff are friendly and accommodating as well.

Good value for out of season

My experience started and the street gate. Not much to be impressed. A dirt narrow bumpy driveway looking more entering a slam than a resort. After you enter the gate is better. Out of season this place is mostly a gost town. Rooms are specious and clean but (at least in my room) sheets were not changed for more than 3 days. You have a small fridge and a safe box but no coffee maker. Bathrooms are in good condition and have a hair dryer. Laundry service is good and fast! Food is just average. Not much selection on the salad bar. The pool is too small and too deep. 50% of the pool is 6 to 8 ft deep. Not much use of it unless you like swimming. Excellent ocean view; nice terrace! The property could be better maintained; exterior walls are molded. Looks like nobody heard of pressure washing. People are very nice; they try to anticipate your need and exceedingly ready to assist! Overall, this place is Ok. Luckily I am not in vacation this time. I would be very bored: there is not much activity offered. As you step on the beach there are too many zealous merchants surrounding you! So .... back inside the property where you will not be followed. Finally, the major activity of the day is to wait for the dinner time :) and to admire the beautiful ocean view.... actually this is why I am here....

Bra hotell nära stranden.

Skön plats med härlig personal. Jag har rekommenderat detta hotell till 18 personer som bokat in där.Jag frågade om jag ej kunde få lite rabatt för det. Men det var nobben. Nästa gång tar jag nog ett annat hotell.

Mombasa ruft

Leider war unser Aufenthalt nur sehr kurz/1 Nacht Die Organisation klappt hervorragend. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Insgesamt sehr schöner Aufenthalt, Bademöglichkeit im Meer und Pool vorhanden. Das Hotel wird ist von Gästen 50 plus belegt, aber auch für Kinder ist gesorgt. Sicherheitsguards ausreichend vorhanden. Jederzeit wieder. Hotels und bar in unterschiedlicher Qualität in nächster Nähe erreichbar.

Not the place to stay if you want comfort

The hotel staff was not helpful in any way- with the exception of the pool boys. The guys at the pool were great, but the reception desk was unfriendly to the point of rude. There was also no access to wifi in the rooms, which is apparently normal. The land-line internet only worked in the lobby for 2 of the ten days I was there. The food served for dinner was not edible most nights, but the breakfasts were good. This is not the place to stay if you expect comfort or to have access to the internet in order to communicate with your family. I will certainly return to Mombasa, but would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

slitet, gammalt men utmärkt läge

Mycket slitet hotell. Kylskåpet rostigt och gick inte att stänga , AC fungerade ett tag lät mycket och gick sen sönder. WIFI fungerar mycket dåligt på hela hotellområdet speciellt i rummen. Standardrummen mycket små och omoderna. Atmosfären och läget vinner och är nog varför många återvänder. Men jag tycker att skicket försämrats sen jag var där sist nov 2013.

Vi, 2 kompisar på 60+ ångrade inte en minut att vi bokade Kenya Bay Beach Hotell. Efter en fantastisk safariresa avslutade vi vår vistelse med 1 vecka vid havet just på detta hotellet. Fantastisk personal, glad och tillmötesgående, trevliga rena rum, bra frukost, och fin utemiljö med solstolar under palmer och parasoller. Bra havsbad då flod lät vattnet strömma in. Möjligheter till snorkling och dykande vid korallrev. Underhållning av otroliga lokala grupper- akrobater- och inte bara inhemsk dans och musik. Hjälp till utflykter av seriösa strandsäljare till bra och säkra ställen inom regionen. Bättre priser än vad man kan förvänta sig. Vi säger KARIBU - ni ångrar er inte!!

Blev ganska besviken, kanske beroende på att jag kom från Voyager hotell i närheten som var fantastiskt. Det kändes som om det här hotellet är på väg ner, kockarna hade rejält smutsiga kläder, lite personal, lite dålig service och lite nergånget. Få servitörer och någon luktade svett. Det finns bara varmvatten ett par timmar på morgonen och ett par timmar på eftermiddagen, otroligt dåligt. Rekommenderar inte detta hotell.

My visit to the Kenya Bay Beach Hotel was spoilt by several days of unseasonal very wet weather. My air conditioned room was large and well furnished with a newly installed bathroom. There seemed to be ongoing work to upgrade all the rooms of the hotel. A large flat screen TV was installed in my room but the range of channels available was poor, no BBC or CNN for example. Great if you liked Bollywood films!! The place can be noisy with music / disco going on well into the early hours. Free broadband is offered either on the hotel's computers or on your own, but only in the hotel foyer or near the dining room. It is not available in your room. On its website, the hotel claims to back onto the famous "Haller Park". This NOT the case, the nearest entry is at least a mile away on the opposite side of a busy main road. Hotel food is fair in both variety and quality. Security is adequate, although the mini-safe in my room was broken and there was no telephone. To summarise, the hotel is improving but there are still areas open to yet further improvement. I found the staff to be helpful and courteous, a big plus in any hotel.
