Gorgeous Art Deco furnished hotel with great attention to detail. Nice big bedrooms with aircon. Beautiful garden with pool. Excellent dinner menu and extensive breakfast offering. Staff are delightful.

Nice and neat property. Food was good, great grounds and gardens . Whilst it has History and character it lacks just that little something that would take it to the next level. But great value for money we would definately stay there again.

Great hotel
Wonderful stay, the room was very large and comfortable. Great terrace and bar area to relax. Restaurant was excellent both for dinner and the included breakfast. Loved the art deco theme and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Will definately be back.

Wonderful and a real haven
Being at the Montagu Country Hotel is a delight. It is like stepping into a special world. The garden is beautiful, we had a lovely room, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good. Our car was safely parked behind a gate. We have been to this hotel many times and it is great to see it being updated while always retaining its charm.

Heritage stay Montagu Country Hotel
The Hotel is busy under going renovations which we were not made aware of at time of booking. Bath/shower water flow was poor. Gardens are beautiful and the food was excellent. Overall very satisfied.

Wonderful Stay
Superb hotel with an excellent staff. Great breakfasts and dinners. Pool was lovely and clean. The gardens are stunning.

Wish we had stayed longer!
Don't even think twice - book this hotel immediately! Ask for the African Hut, which is a deluxe double, and you'll find yourself with a thatched-roof lodge all to yourself. The bathroom is gorgeous - huge, and with a soaking tub plus double shower. There is a sitting area, well-stocked coffee/tea service, plus a very comfy bed. If the weather is fine, you can sit outside and enjoy the gardens. The included breakfast is very generous, and dinner was well-priced and delicious. Go ahead - click the Book It button!

Het verblijf was aangenaam, wel is het hotel in een zeer oude staat. Kamer 7: geur is verschrikkelijk oud. Het zwembad was vuil. Het personeel maakte veel goed! Iedereen was super vriendelijk en we kregen een warm ontvangst. Het is aan te raden voor 1 nacht, niet langer.

Located in the heart of Montagu. It takes you back to years ago....the hotel is decorated like in the fifties...but facilities are good and the food is delicious.

Stylish old-school but with modern amenities
Fabulous old yet stylish hotel - lots of attention to detail in decor. Great location, within historic area in Montagu. Service was always top class, both in hotel and restaurant. Food was excellent, and a bit rustic, as would be expected. Gardens looked amazing for a drought-stricken area. Wifi worked better than expected. Surprised to find secure parking area as part of hotel. Room was on first floor and there is no lift, but I had only small luggage items (they did offer a porter). Would certainly recommend and consider staying here again.

Fabulous stay at the Montagu Country Hotel & Spa. The Karoo Lamb Pie and Babotie serves in the Dining Room are not to be missed. The Art Deco atmosphere lends an air of history and elegance.

I am not a structural engineer, but I do know that the floor in our room should NOT sag 50-60mm in the middle when walking on it. It gave the impression that we were about to crash through into the room below....very disconcerting.

Enjoyable stay
Two night stay during garden route road trip . Enjoyed my time at the hotel which is conveniently located in the centre of the town so you can easily wander around and browse the local shops . The outdoor areas were well maintained and comfortable to sit in and relax . The restaurant was very busy on the night I used it so took a while for our food to arrive but we'll worth the wait and would like to thank the restaurant waiting team for great service they provided . Would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel to others.

Le temps semble s'être arrêter fin des années 70 dans cet hotel au style Art Deco. Le mobilier est d'époque et c'est kitch à souhait. Les couleurs peuvent faire mal aux yeux parfois ! Amusant, mais pas trop longtemps car la literie aurait besoin d'être renouvelé. Le personnel est aux petits soins, disponible et serviable. Le restaurant nous a régaler au diner. Petit déjeuner copieux et varié.
