My wife and I just had the most incredible 4 night stay at GoldenEye for our anniversary. We stayed in one of the Lagoon Cottages which was very roomy and comfortable. We loved being directly on the lagoon where we could swim, kayak or just sit and watch the turtles go by. We enjoyed the beaches and pools on the property as well. All of the staff (front desk, restaurants, grounds, water sports, spa, etc.) were wonderful. And, every meal we had at Bizot Bar and Bamboo Bar was delicious and featured the freshest local ingredients and bright Jamaican flavors in a good variety of traditional dishes. I cannot think of a single negative. We cannot wait to go back next year.

This is a very unique property which is very restful during the day and the property is kept in great condition. The location is quiet noisy at night with the nearby road. The staff are generally friendly and helpful however the front desk are quite abrupt and the restaurant staff are sometimes slow and forgetful. The prices are top dollar but the overall staff service is not 5 star.

Relaxing Carib getaway

Very nice although most of amenities were closed due to Covid. One complaint was food - we ate at same location every night and items repeated themselves.

GoldenEye is a magical place. This was truly the most beautiful place we have visited, made more so by the extraordinary staff. Our 2-bedroom beach hut was perfection in every way. GoldenEye is spacious and allows its guests to spread out and enjoy the sun and sand without feeling confined. Chef Nick and the staff at Button Beach make the travel totally worth your while. This was our first trip, but it absolutely won’t be our last. It is more wonderful than I can put into words.

This expensive exceeded our wildest imaginations. We have stayed at hotels all over the world but non comes close to Golden Eye. Everything was top tier, the hotel grounds, the staff the food, the experience. I want to big up Richie who taught me how to paddle board. He’s kind, patient, funny and made me feel very comfortable on the water. Richie big up yuhself and don’t forget our conversation about likability!!! We a come back come see yuh enuh! Not one single staff member walks by you without saying hello! The friendliest and kindest staff. Jamaica is truly a magical place.

We selected GoldenEye because my husband is a James Bond scholar. The property was beautiful and the beaches were calm, magnificent, and shallow, although I think it does get deeper as you go out further. My 3 star rating comes because of two reasons. Firstly, the food was ok, nothing memorable, just OK. My problem with this is that at that cost, I expect magnificent. We had an expensive buffet dinner (this includes two drinks and tip) and were expecting memorable. This is a beautiful resort. It is a lot like an all inclusive without the inclusive. It is very secluded (and I get that this is their intention, which is to give their guests privacy.) So if you like all inclusive, this is your type of place. My 3 star rating comes from a personal experience. Before arriving I write to ask if I could invite my cousin for lunch. My first answer was a bit nebulous and strange, so I wrote again and was told that I could not because the property was full and they could not accommodate two extras. We were there for three days and each night me and my husband sat at a table for four with two empty seats. My point here is that I prefer to be spoken to truthfully. If the protocol is that folks in the beach huts are not allowed guests, then just say so because I am sure if Adele asks to have two guests for lunch, she will not get a "sorry, we are full," when that is clearly not the case. But as I said, if you like upscale all-inclusives, this is your place (without the inclusives).

I loved everything about Goldeneye. It was the most unique resort I've ever visited, with the lagoon and the beach and the pools offering a variety of water activities. The Accommodations were luxurious, including the huts, but they were also cosy and homey and the wooden slatted windows and high ceilings and mosquito netting around the big high comfortable bed reminded me of a wonderful time gone by. The staff effortlessly remembered our names and everything about us from day one. They looked out for us and anticipated our needs without being intrusive in anyway. Patrick, who seemed quiet, but suggested that I learned to paddle board, and held on until I felt safe enough to do it, was a standout. As were bartenders Jermaine and Milton and Kevin the waiter at Bizot. Nardia is my forever fave because she made me snort with laugher and called me Shell Shell, honestly I miss them already. The little details, like the eco friendliness of the resort (we will never forget the afternoon we spent helping to release the baby turtles), and the pride that the staff take in the resort and each other (Donald bragging about the cooks at Button Beach and Richard giving me resort tidbits on our kayak trip.... soooo good. Also the complimentary Blackwell Rum and the letters on arrival and departure felt very special. We really loved our time there and the people we met and we can't wait to come back!

Shaken And Very Stirred Staying At GoldenEye hotel

Summary: A ok hotel which I'd struggle to recommend unless seeking privacy or a very quiet stay. Positive: - The lagoon rooms are fantastic, fixture and fittings are excellent. - The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable - Mosquito net above the bed is essential being next to the lagoon - Provided a nice Birthday Champagne bottle in the room - Each lagoon room has its own kayak, free to use and try spot turtles -Book in seeing Marlon for snorkeling, such a calm guy who had amazing patience with two weak swimmers - Nice Beach Negatives: - Upon arrival at Golden Eye reception, felt unwanted and cold. No drinking water offered or cold towel provided to help settle us down from traveling. Receptionist with the bald head definitely gave off I'm too important vibe. - Outside shower is great during sunny weather but runs cold water while raining. - During our stay, across from the lagoon loud club music can be heard which kills the relaxing sunset vibe. This happened both nights during our stay. -Bar staff constantly on their phone and unattentive. -We attended a buffet style night by the beach. Nice setting and average tasting Carribbean food ($60 each). My partner and I both woke up with bad belly, not ideal to fly with. -Anyone who wants to view the Ian Fleming room will now be declined as they've stopped tours even if no one is occupying. A great shame as many fans travel to GoldenEye to experience history. Now it's simple hotel which leverages a legend name.

I have stayed here before but i only returned as i wanted to show my friend the place. Check in staff were okay and breakfast staff were very good and even made us Jamaican chocolate tea. However check out was lousy. We dealt with a sour individual who did not know how to say please or thank you. I did tell him off. This idiot shoukd know that this is the last impression guest have of the property. Its living off its reputation but is over priced and over rated.
