“This was a journey break going from Punakaiki to Akaroa so it was only one night. We did the Devils Punchbowl at Arthur’s Pass before checking in and then the next day we did the Cave Stream Scenic Reserve (note: lambing has shut the stream exit from the cave Nov to Feb but continue around the path system to where the river flows into the cave system and you can get some great pictures without going in). “This was such a lovely hotel with lovely reception staff! The only thing I didn't like was that the cookie that was given to welcome you in the room was already old, it was hard and inedible. There was also an incident where the breakfast lady had a tiff with another set of guests so it left a slightly negative impression. Will stay here again.”
