Courtyard Mt. Pleasant at Central Michigan University
8/10 Good
"The hotel was absolutely top notch. Clean, room was very spacious! I only deducted a star because of the bathroom situation. There was no fan, leaving the mirrors super foggy and blow drying my hair in a humid environment was tough. Also, the shower has a half door and the water pressure was so good, thankfully- but the water would come out onto the floor of the bathroom. Other than that- super nice and clean!"
"It was fine. Not bad but not good. Breakfast was there, not ideal. The bare minimum for a breakfast. Coffee, milk, cereal, waffles, yogurt, juice. Apples, no bananas?! White bread only. No pastries. Workout room was in an actual room with some dumbbells that went from 15 lbs to 45 lbs, nothing in between. A treadmill (treadmill was actually pretty decent!), an elliptical & a bench in a super small room. Would be horrible to be in there with another person. Very uncomfortable. Like I said, bare minimum for everything. Not bad, not good either."
"Property has roaches. Breakfast was nasty they were serving sausage gravy biscuits. Biscuits were under cooked cold and pale. Front desk tells me over the phone deposit cash is $100. Get to property was told $50. This is a sleazy motel. "
"I can say that when we arrived, the staff was welcoming and friendly. The room was fine at first glance, but the bathroom was not clean. There was hair in the tub and on the floor, and not just one stray hair that had been missed.
We left for a few hours and when we came back, the entire floor smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. It was so bad that our clothes smelled like smoke when we went to the basketball tournament the next day…even though we opened the window to try and air it out a bit. My son also woke up with sinus issues, as he has adverse reactions to cigarette smoke, which made the situation worse since he was competing that day in the tournament.
There were also other guests running and yelling in the halls until around midnight, and it seemed like they had been drinking. We usually rely on these trips to get a good night of rest before games, but this time we were completely unrested.
We travel often for tournaments and usually stay at Wyndham hotels. This was easily the worst experience we have had."
