Neil Island, Port Blair hotel rooms at the Independent

"Only constructive criticism. The hotel was amazing the staff was excellent! The breakfast buffet was a bit of an organized chaos scenario. They had enough staff, but they didn’t direct them to do specific things. In my case, I want coffee in the morning. There would’ve been absolutely no problem to have one of the members of the RESTAURANT team concentrate on coffee, tea, and other beverages. But every morning I went for breakfast I had to get the attention of somebody, which wasn’t always easy, to get a cup of coffee. Just a little bit more coordination is required up there. Other than that, I have no concerns or complaints about the entire property. Everybody did their utmost best to make the guests feel comfortable. Shout out to The Concierge’s team shout out to The small restaurant where they layout the foods and history of the Andaman Islands. Sorry, I forgot the name."

"The staff were great and helpful and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. We did not eat in the restaurant but the breakfast was fine and varied. The biggest issue for us was the constant building work. Expedia makes no mention of it on their website. Behind the restaurant, which everyone has to pass there is a huge mound of rocks and rubble. There’s a partially built bar area and behind the room block is another block being built. The pool is lovely but there are no loungers and when we asked for somewhere to sit the staff bought out two dining chairs. At the pool area there was the constant noise of tile cutting and dust. Each room has its own patio with seating but sitting here you could hear construction work. Either side of the pool is a path and this was used by trucks to transport materials to the building site beyond. They claim that it’s a private beach but it’s a section of the beach, which not unpleasant, can be accessed from other hotels along the beach. Many people walk back and forth along the beach so I’m not sure this qualifies as private. There some very heavy wooden loungers but they are out of the sun and have no mattresses. The beach is across the road from the hotel The photos shown on line are a row of newish cabins which are from the road to the beach. If using one of these you would have to cross the road for breakfast and the pool. We were bitterly disappointed, and let down by Expedia"

"I had a wonderful experience at this hotel from start to finish. The check-in process was smooth and the staff was extremely welcoming and professional. The room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable. The bed was cozy, and everything from the linens to the bathroom amenities felt high quality. The location was perfect — close to restaurants and shops, yet still quiet and relaxing at night. Housekeeping did a great job, and I appreciated the attention to detail throughout the property. Overall, it was a stress-free and enjoyable stay. I would definitely come back and recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness, and excellent service. "

"The property was great, room was incredibly beautiful but the property manager was rude and only wanted to do the bare minimum. The staff was nice and quick. The restaurant closed at 10pm after which i was refused any in room dining services. At 11pm i requested for a spoon and was told it won't be possible since restaurant is closed. "
