Hotel in gem of a town
We ended up staying in Hotel Newport at very short notice. Staff were lovely and although rooms were dated, they were clean. Did not spot the kettle the first night so was disappointed by that as I thought there was none. However, the cupboard that contained the tea/coffee etc was pointed out to me the next day - would have preferred it's location to be more obvious. Cooked breakfast choice was excellent and the food served was good quality. Unexpectedly got to join the town's Nephin Beggers for a bit of hill walking on the Sunday which was a bonus.

Quick overnight stay to celebrate a friends retirement. e enjoyed a nice clean room, a good drink in the bar, a good sleep and a lovely breakfast.

Well positioned to visit nearby tourist attractions. A little disappointed that they didn’t provide a laundry service despite advertising so (a nearby laundry solved my problem).

Just ok
Room was spacious and clean but situated to the front and right above the smoking area, so noisy until the bar closed. Breakfast was ok and the staff were lovely and did everything they could but seemed a bit overwhelmed by the number of guests who turned up for breakfast.

Rooms were clean and satisfactory however poor food especially the breakfast, food served cold and greasy, on our last morning we were told the chef did not show up so no cooked breakfast available. Fruit was laid out at night And left uncovered.

Great alternative location to Westport
We wanted to stay in Westport but it was fully booked for family rooms and were lucky enough to find Hotel Newport! It's close enough to Westport to visit there but quieter. The food was also very good in the bar. Also recommend the Carrowholly stables if you like horse riding and pitch and putt at t Westport golf club.

村？で一番良いホテル
Westportが満室で やむなく440系バス25分のNewportに泊まりましたが なかなか良いホテルで満足。小さな村の唯一のホテルで建物は古いが雰囲気を保って綺麗にレストアしてる。食事も良好、スタッフは元気で親切。お向かいに観光案内所があります。なお1937年に廃線となった石造りの鉄道橋の近くです。なおバス停は至近。

Nice hotel
Irish style hotel convenient to Achille island and Ireland’s west coast. Nice pub like restaurant. Kid friendly. Friendly service, traditional Irish breakfast. Free car park in the back. Have stayed here several times

Very pleasant Hotel
Very good Hotel. Hotel in great location in Newport centre. All staff were extremely helpful especially (Tom) and room very pleasant. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this area whereby they require a nice place to stay.

Très bon hotel. nous sommes arrivé à minuit et nous avons été très bien accueillis. Il y avait un concert donné dans le pub attenant et nous n'avons rien entendu (nous avions été prévenu qu'il durerait jusqu'à 1h du matin). le lendemain l'accueil pour le petit déjeuner était très bon également et les conseils pour les visites aussi.

Review
My main concern was that the music in the bar 2 floors below us kept us up til midnight after a very long day. I wouldn’t suggest any hotel do that unless there bar if far from the sleeping quarters, not cool. The scrambled eggs st breakfast taste weird compared to what we were used to. The only other suggestion would be to have outlets next to people’s beds to plug in devices. But the people were very nice and the room was comfy.

We loved every minute. The staff was outstanding, especially the front desk. Every shop we were in was extra nice. Beautiful ruins and cemetery o ly 2.5 km away. Our room was great. The bar and restsurant had tons of character. Food was good. Breakadt nice. Price great.

Lovely hotel close to bike hire and Greenway.
Enjoyed a lovely weekend in Newport Betel. Right in the town so easy to get around. Hired bikes and took shuttle bus to Achill and then cycled back to Newport stopping for lunch in Mulranny and coffee in lovely new coffee house on the Greenway. Hotel is lovely and clean. Nice large room for all 3 of us. Food excellent and staff are lovely. Definitely recommended!

NO SLEEP
We stayed a Fri and Sat night with 2 kids in family room 105. This room is directly above the bar and on each night there was live, highly amplified music until 1am. It was so loud, it would make your teeth rattle. None of us got any sleep until about 2am and our plans for an active break along the Greenway were ruined as kids were wrecked. Reception couldn't do anything and seemed used to complaints. This is the usual level of noise at the weekends. Why put a family room here? It was like having a TV on very loud in your room and expecting to sleep. Worst ever and WAY above usual bar noise level. Wasted €350 for our food and accommodation and we couldn't wait to leave and get home. They shouldn't book families in here at weekends or at the veru least warm them. Such a shame as it was a great hotel otherwise, clean, cosy, great staff, good food and ambience in bar, excellent location. Room 105 is split level with full sized beds for 4 and a super room otherwise. Just don't stay at the weekend and double check there are no events planned midweek. Really sorry to leave a bad review, but our holiday was ruined and we don't have money to kick.

The hotel is within walking distance of the town but not the easiest walk as it is just off the major roadway in and out of Town. They are doing major renovations as well.
