"Absolutely tiny room/shower room. No room to move in the shower room. Signs of black mould on the ceiling. Random fake rock face walls in corridors felt very claustrophobic. Noisy at the weekend due to a nightclub across the road - loud music until 3am. Other guests were also very noisy late at night. Doors didn't help as it was impossible to close them quietly. Convenient location for city centre, harbour and train station. Good breakfast and very nice staff, but unfortunately we won't be staying here again unless the rooms have a total redesign and makeover. "
Holiday Inn Express Portsmouth - Gunwharf Quays by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Check in was a bit challenging. First person not as helpful but second person was excellent so depending on who you get breakfast was good with hot and cold. Room was basic but had noisy neighbours and thin walls. Room clean. Location was the greatest feature! Would stay again"
"On approach of the Portsmouth Inn budget hotel it did look a bit off putting by all the wiring and stuff by the door but, as I found out when you go inside everything is nice and clean. there is nobody there to welcome you. It is a self service keyless entry. when you get in contact with the actual property manager you’re given a card via A key holder lock which opens the front door and opened your room inside the room. It is clean well maintained, decent shower, full tea coffee facilities, the only complaint i must make is the thickness of the mattress wasn’t thick enough for me and found my hips were touching the bed base when I was laying on my side. There again, I am set thick man.
In the daytime, I met the cleaner who was very helpful very polite and very attentive. My stay was pleasant and I would recommend anybody on a budget to visit the hotel."
