“Room was comfortable and quiet with a nice bed. Stayed in the older building but new rooms are available soon. Walk to breakfast at Tom's. Good option for Machias.”

“The Atlantic Coast is an older motel, but very well kept and clean. They leave you two water bottles, two cans of soda and two bags of chips-which is a nice touch. They have an Indian restaurant on the premises that is very popular with the locals. The only downside is that they do not staff the front office. However they are very responsive in terms of delivering ice, etc if you text them. A very good value if you want a place to base yourself in and then drive the half hour to Bar Harbor.”

“My initial impression at check-in was a bit guarded as the entrance and lobby needs updating. The reception person was quite informative and took us to show where our rooms were, which were in an adjacent building. But I must say, the rooms were spotless, immaculate. All the plumbing and hardware throughout appeared brand new. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet. Actually had my best night sleep on my extended trip! “I hate to write negative things, this inn has many things going for it. The mattress in room 6, however, badly needs to be replaced. You sink in about six inches when you sit and the springs squeak and groan every time you move. There is only one accessible grounded outlet by the door. Other outlets are concealed behind furniture.
