"This was an unplanned overnight visit. We had food that needed to be kept frozen...they made it very convenient...pizza will be good!!!! We didn't make it to breakfast so cant comment on that."

"Overall the resort was very nice and my family had a nice time. The room was not as clean as it could be in the nooks and cracks and a little tight. The cable also kept going in/out. The shuttle service to town was a perk and the heated pool was very nice. We were disappointed with the spa, they were obviously short staffed and it was very basic for the price. The indoor pool was also closed. Aside from these few things, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. If you are contemplating staying in town or Goat Island, i definitely recommend Goat Island to give you a resort feel away from the chaos when you have had enough. Not to mention the views of the bay are amazing."

"The property is very large. Having one washer and dryer for a property that size is not understandable. Front desk needs to have plenty of quarters for the use of the washer/dryer.Most of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast choices were varied and a good selection. The elevator smelled greatly of mold/mildew. The size of our room was great especially w the “punch out” of the wall. The bed was comfortable. I would stay again."

"We stayed at the Howard Johnson in Middletown for a week with our two daughters, and my husband joined us for one night. It was a mixed experience. We checked in late and found a grease stain on the headboard, coffee stains on the desk, fingerprints on the door, a sticky spot on the carpet, and leftover food in the refrigerator. The shower would only drain if we removed the top of the drain. I told the housekeeping manager the next day, but they didn’t seem very concerned. On a cold day, I turned on the heat and the smoke alarms went off, so the heating system needs attention. The overnight front desk employee was very helpful, and the support staff brought us things we needed, including a crib, quickly. They helped keep us comfortable throughout the week. Parking was plentiful, with convenient spots for bringing luggage to the room, and having an Applebee’s connected to the building was handy. The outdoor area was nice. We used the small pool once, but the water looked murky, so we didn’t go back. The room didn’t smell bad, but it wasn’t clean enough for a stay costing about $400 a night. There were some helpful people and conveniences, but overall, I probably wouldn’t stay here again."
