The COVID-19 outbreak has brought about big changes to the way we travel. If you're planning a trip to Northern Chile, these tips will help you navigate these new challenges and rules:

• Before locking in your flight, find out if any travel restrictions or bans apply — in both your destination and origin. Stay informed with the latest updates by reviewing government and airport websites.
• When you go through airport screening, do not remove your face mask. You will be asked to lower it briefly to confirm your identity. Passengers who refuse to wear a face mask may be denied entry or boarding.
• Avoid handing your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA employee. Instead, position the pass on the scanner and then hold it up for inspection.
• You can take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on bag. This will need to be taken out for X-ray scanning.
• Put any personal items (like your phone, wallet and keys) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• Separate any food you have for screening. Food items often trigger the alarm. Putting them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA officer to handle and inspect your belongings.

Plane travel is looking quite different at the moment. Almost all airlines have implemented a range of new measures, including social distancing, to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Here are a couple of them:
