Northern Europe, hotel rooms at the Melia

"For a hotel near an airport, I wasn't expecting much based on my experiences at other airport hotel brands. But I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was very nice. The staff was great. The room was nice and comfortable. The airport shuttle service was great. "

"We stayed over the Easter weekend and they had organised extra activities for the children which was a great touch. We loved using the pool and sauna after our day out exploring the city. We had a large family room which was two rooms interconnected and that worked very well for us, the rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. The hotel is a short walk from the trains and buses to get around the various parts of the city, or even a train across to Sweden. We enjoyed drinks in the lobby bar, brasserie bar, and in the sky bar on the top floor which had some nice views. We decided to eat all meals outside of the hotel, and found it easy to find some good cafes for breakfast, and food markets for lunch or dinner."

"Clean but very small room (#718) and with an even smaller bathroom. I am medium build and media height. A larger person would have problems using that bathroom. I had to shuffle sideways to get into the shower cubicle (no bath). You would have to be a contortionist to access the toilet roll while sitting on the loo. "
