“We were in the yellow side building. Our room was very small. The bathroom was tiny and had the smallest sink I have ever seen in my life- slightly larger than my hand- hard to wash your face. Hotel is right across from Godafoss waterfall- not in the town area of Laugar. Paid extra for breakfast and it was very nice- even had a choose your own espresso machine. Dated decor. Shower very slippery but so small chances are good you won’t fall.”
“My room (separated rooms from the main section) was dead quiet throughout the night I stayed. Anybody who wants tranquility should book these type of rooms.
Shared kitchen was bit crowded at late hours. The cooker had 4 positions but they were weak in power. Breakfast included but only basic continental type. There are chickens, horses, and a house dog in the front yard. Dry type Sauna and a hot tub was ready outside.”
"The hotel is a bit dated, but overall it’s a cozy place to stay — especially given the great location right by Lake Mývatn.
Don’t expect warm smiles at the reception; the front desk staff were rather expressionless. That said, the restaurant and bar staff were more pleasant and helpful.
If you’re traveling around Iceland, it’s best not to expect typical hotel service as you’d find elsewhere.
Still, this place was comfortable enough for a short stay and provided the basics I needed."
"Among the accommodations around Lake Mývatn, this is a relatively clean and cheap hotel for its facilities.
However, breakfast is separate, and the 10% discount price is ISK4,050 (=30USD=43,700 won), which is quite expensive.
There were several CCTVs in the restaurant where I ate breakfast, but I wondered why there really needed to be CCTVs in the restaurant. I felt like I was being watched while eating breakfast.
