great location and friendly helpful host.
breakfast was just OK, bought pastries, juice, coffee. Fruit or yogurt would have brought it up a notch. Bed comfy.
Cute and charming in a great location - walking distance to everything in Oak Bluffs, yet it's in a quiet residential neighborhood. Staff was friendly and helpful, the room was really charming and comfortable, neat and clean. We would definitely stay there again - and we highly recommend it to others.

The Victorian Heat
This was my first time in one of the enchanting rooms at this hotel. The bedding and bathroom were clean. The outside rooftop sitting area was quaint. I was there in July and when I tell you the cross breeze is NOT enough for a "woman of a certain age". They have air conditioning in some rooms and provided a fan, but it was pretty hot and humid. The balcony did not have a screen so at night you end up with mosquito's. On a more positive note, the porch is a wonderful respite. A place to chat with strangers and enjoy the night, morning or afternoon air.
A charming B&B just a few blocks from the ferry terminal. It is also just a block from the downtown district (food and shops) and three blocks from the beach. It is convenient to everything in the Oak Bluffs area. From there it is easy to catch a bus to anywhere else on the island.
Jane, the proprietor, was very helpful in guiding us to the bus system, bicycles, and food. She was very user-friendly and provided great recommendations.
The rooms are very small, but very clean and comfortable enough. We didn't go to Oak Bluffs to sit in the room anyway. There are window AC units, so the temperature was comfortable. In the evenings after dinner we sat in rocking chairs on the porch and relaxed from the day's activities. We would purchase a bottle of wine in town, and Jane provided wine glasses for us.
Breakfast is coffee, juice and a couple of pastries. There is a small breakfast room that also has a small refrigerator that guests may use for some drinks or restaurant left overs.
If we return to Martha's Vineyard, we would definitely stay in the Narragansett House again!
Narragansett House property is set in a great location in Oak Bluffs MA. A very short walk to restaurants, shopping, ferry and the harbor. The Iroquois Cottage (where I stayed) is a beautiful cottage with comfortable rooms, nice porch and a nice, quiet common area for meet and greeting other guests. I would definitely recommend for a couple looking for a nice cozy place in the heart of of Martha's Vineyard or a small family looking for a place to stay on a beach trip to MA.
Lovely B&B, with friendly and helpful owners. Very close to downtown shops and restaurants in Oak Bluffs, and not far from the beach and from bus services to other towns on Martha's Vinyard.
We stayed in the Iroquois Cottage, which is across the street from the main house. It was remodeled in 1999 and had off street parking. It was reasonably quite. There was some noise from cars and pedestrians going to and from Circuit Ave during the day, but was quite at night. The women who ran the place was super helpful, even walking across the street with me at check in to show me around the house. The continental breakfast was just that, but you could easily walk to Circuit Ave if you needed something more than coffee or tea and a muffin. There was no refrigerator in the room, but they offered a shared refrigerator on the first floor. The Oak Bluff ferry was in easy walking distance.
Perfect place to stay for our weekend trip! Close to the beach and the main shopping of oak bluffs. A short walk from the Ferry. Cozy room. Owner of the house is amazing! She knows everything about the town, how to navigate, where to go for the best food and what sites to see. She made us feel very welcome and helped us with everything we needed and more...plus with what we didnt even know we needed! We would stay here again!
Overall the Narragansett House was a wonderful place to stay...close to everything...food, shopping, history and many beaches to enjoy...Jane & Paul were wonderful hosts...

Cozy, comfortable, and close to everything!
Great experience and would stay here again! Jane and Paul, the B & B owners, are wonderful, warm, and very accommodating. My room was cozy and comfortable and everything was in good working order. The room was modern and updated as well with a great private bathroom and nice shower. The location was perfect...about a block or so away from the cute downtown area which had great shopping, restaurants, and night life. Also, an easy walking distance to bus routes and the beach. Can't wait to visit the island and Narragansett House again!
We were greeted by Jane, one of the owners. she was extremely gracious and helpful as it was my first time to the Island. Our room at the Iroquois Cottage was better and bigger than the pictures on the website (amazing Victorian charm). We had our car and they had plenty of off street parking which is at a premium on the Vineyard. they had coffee, juice and hot water for tea along with a selection of two coffee cakes and assorted muffins laid out every morning for the guests to help themselves. It was an extremely relaxing environment. I would highly recommend staying here.
Easy to checkin if arriving after hours. Extremely helpful staff. Many regular returnees. Perfect Oak Bluffs location--1 block to Circuit Avenue, 2 blocks or so to ocean.

Close to all.....
The room was extremely small for our liking, however, Jane was extremely helpful and hospitable. It is in walking distance of the beach, ferry , restaurants and shopping.
Note: there is no elevator and steps are very narrow.
Room is good for one person that spends most of his/her time outdoors.
We had an incredible stay here at Narraganasett House!! Jane is super friendly and welcoming and every interaction with her made us feel at home! The room, Room 4, we had was super cute and cozy. We ended up staying one more night spontaneously and stayed at room 1 in Iroquois House (across the street, same owners) and that room was also cozy and had a ceiling fan and a little private outdoor sitting area on the porch. The bed and sheets were incredibly comfortable. The location is absolutely perfect, walking distance to the ferry, the bus stop to go elsewhere on the island, the beach, and all the cute shops and restaurants downtown. We had an incredible 3-night stay here. We can not wait to come back and will book this place again in a heartbeat!!
Very bad experience. The Owner showed sign of racism and very unwelcoming to people of color. Refuse to allow my family to stay because we had my son with me.
Jane the owner of this charming B&B is very welcoming, friendly, and very knowledgeable (she tipped us about the all-day bus pass at only $8 which is a big cost-savings instead of taking a taxi all over the island!). She and her husband are very pleasant as well. I would recommend Narragansett House to any of my friends and family looking for a place to stay at in Martha's Vineyard.
this was a great inn within walking distance to the ferry & all other sites in Oak Bluffs. The rooms are small & we had a nice balcony off of our bedroom to sit out on enjoy the outdoors but we really didn't spend much time inside our room as we were out visiting everything to see in Martha;s Vineyard, The inn also has a nice front porch with tables & rocking chairs. Continental breakfast mostly coffee cakes, muffins & assorted breads. Microwave & fridge available for guest in the downstairs kitchen area but no seating-eat in your room, on the porch or sitting area in reception area. This is a very old but quaint Inn which is one of the reasons we chose it & looks like the "Gingerbread Cottages" located nearby.

Bed & BREAKFAST???
To call this a bed-and-breakfast is a gross overstatement . All that was for breakfast was coffee cake. This was vastly different than any other bed-and-breakfast we have experienced in any other b&b nationally or internationally.
