"Like the previous reviewer of this property we were also disappointed to find that we were also given a double room with a shared shower room rather than a private bathroom that we booked and was detailed in our hotels.com receipt (photo attached of booking shows standard room and private bathroom and have checked and if you go in to site today standard room shows private bathroom. As we were very tired after our journey and waiting around for 3 hours to gain access to our room at check in...

"The Melfort house is an amazing property with beautiful furnishings, lovely gardens & a spectacular view of the sea surrounded by lambs & song birds. Matthew, the host, was very accommodating & prepared an outstanding 4 course dinner & made to order Scottish breakfast. Our visit there stands out as the best in Scotland!"

"Too bright for sleeping due to window in bathroom and shining through glass on bathroom door. Walked across road to restaurant and didn’t realize had to make reservations, we were told by elderly lady that she was the only one working and doing everything. She couldn’t make us dinner due to preparing dinner for other 2 tables which had 2 diners each, we were 3. "

"What a lovely place to stay! Darren and Karen are marvellous hosts, couldn't do enough to make our visit truly memorable. And the breakfasts were delicious, as well as superbly served. The view over the bay, and the local wildlife enjoying their breakfasts outside the window, added an extra charm ... Coupled to a superb restaurant at the hotel next door, not to mention the magnificent scenery and history of the area, we couldn't have found a more ideal place for a short holiday. "

"a fantastic place to stay, ideally situated on the west highland way. I stayed there as a midway point on a business trip. the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was huge! "We had a wonderful stay with Fae and Marcus. The house and location are full of character, and the hospitality was warm and welcoming. We had the large twin room, with great views of the bay, and very comfortable beds. We appreciated all the extra little touches, like the high quality local foods. The hosts were a great source of information about the island, including walks and places to visit.We took a boat tour to the Treshnish islands with Turus Mara (the company Marcus suggested). "A wonderful peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Be prepared for a lengthy but beautiful drive from Oban. Delightful garden to rest and reflect. Breakfast was great - the porridge was awesome. Jan and Daz were wonderful. They got up early to provide us with a take away breakfast as we needed to leave early. "

"Hillview is an excellent guest house along the road leading to Fort William. The room was fine and recently decorated. It is modern and very clean. The bathroom has every thing you need and it is clean and fresh. You can park your car right outside the house, The views over Loch Linnhe are magnificent. It is very easy to drive to Fort William (about 4 minutes) Breakfast is vey nice (not a fry up which was most welcome!) The owners are very friendly and helpful."

"Campfield House is one of the cleanest B&Bs I’ve stayed at in Scotland. The rooms are cute and cozy, the hosts are incredibly friendly, and the views are stunning. The food is simple, but it’s hot and there’s plenty of it. The tap water wasn’t clear, which was mildly disconcerting, but it tasted fine. I would absolutely stay again."
