"First off, if you go through Expedia, not all fees and taxes are included. The resort tacks on an additional $10 to be paid either via email bill or when you arrive. This is an aging property, so take that in mind. We stayed overnight in a "cottage", which was part of a separate area off the main hotel. There are 8-10(?) connected apartment style, not individual. Each has a nice screened in patio area to sit outside. The room was clean except under the beds. That hadn't been swept in a long time, and there was at least one hair elastic collecting dust bunnies there. I only looked as we were leaving to be sure I hadn't knocked anything underneath. The shower grout looks stained from mold, but tiles/floor were clean. Only 2 bath towels and 1 hand towel provided, no face cloths or floor mat (for use after the shower). TV does work, but you have to figure out what HDMI is actually connected to the DTV box, (ours was under "game console'). Batteries in remote were dead so had to manually move channels/turn on etc from the main DTV box. Didn't try the WiFi to stream. The room has a full sized coffee maker, cooktop/micro and mini fridge. Ice you have to get from main hotel, but that's relatively close. Included breakfast is scrambled eggs/toast/sausage. Anything else is an order from the kitchen off a menu with resort prices. The staff were friendly, you just may have to hunt them down tho. "

"Room was very nice. Nice layout and very comfortable. Camellia Street Grill is nearby... food was fantastic, we sat right near the water. Better than some high-end restaurants but bring cash! The town of Everglades City is like an old "frontier town"... crab boats and fishing, but the natural beauty was incredible. 10,000 Island tour was excellent with numerous dolphins around the boat."

"Staff was super nice. Room was clean. Air conditioning worked great. Bathroom was nice and looked like it had been semi-recently remodeled. Area of town looked safe. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the bathroom window wouldn't lock and that made me nervous someone could break in. I didn't discover this until 11pm when it was too late to call. "

"Very nice staff. Cash only was less than ideal but managed. Room was not in great condition. Clean but the TV didn’t work and the flood lights on the signage in front shined into the windows. Very accommodating folks and great people but not a modern operation by any stretch of the imagination. "
