This is a bit of a conflicted review because there was lots to love about this hotel. The staff were fantastic. They bent over backwards to help us. Breakfast was so good. Lots of options. And in the dining area you can get tea, coffee etc all day. Location good- right across from a massive mall with two floors (6 and 7) that had restaurants - and these are not like the food places you find in malls in Canada. This was extremely good food. And then you can go shopping after dinner! Amenities in the room were good. Cell phone charger, good shower, replenished water. So the issue was the tiny room. I know hotel rooms in Japan are small but this was sooo small. If it was for two people - no way. I could barely manage around my small suitcase. But the biggest issue was that I couldn’t open my curtains. My window looked onto another big wall with windows. I could barely see the sky- only of if I craned my neck a lot to see one tiny bit of blue. So the room was super dark. I would wake up in the morning and think it was the middle of the night. If you are going to stay here see if you can get a room that doesn’t look onto another wall. It felt very confining.

My husband and I stayed at Mitsui Garden Hotel Okayama for one night between two parts of our trip near the Seto Inland Sea. The hotel is conveniently located near the city’s JR station and within walking distance of urban landmarks like Okayama Castle. It was clean and comfortable, and the staff were excellent — they even brought our takkyubin luggage to our room so it was waiting upon our arrival. The breakfast buffet offered a mix of regional, Japanese, and Western dishes, and it was the best breakfast we had during our trip to Japan.

A convenient hotel in Okayama

Hotel location is very convenience. Just nearby the JR Okayama station. With a public bath is great when you are staying in the city. Complementary free drinks and snacks is appreciated. And there is discount offered by the hotel for the car park.

Good location however when booking said had restaurant but this is only for breakfast. Open for hot drinks during the day but zero service at night. We went to the hotel acroos the road for drinks and chinese food, very good.
