The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless. The only thing there was not a plug for the kitchen sink to wash the dishes so I had to compromise. All in all I enjoyed my room. It is close to transportation. It’s about a half hour walk into town. The grocery store kiwi was a great store and had everything I needed. And very helpful being right beside it.

Liked: Cleanliness
This property was exactly as advertised. The location is great for using public transportation to get around Oslo.
Struttura accogliente, pulita e ben organizzata.
The experience is what to expect of a hostel: low price and meeting new people. Yet the way Bunks at Rode organised it, feels a bit weird to me.
I stayed in a shared dorm (of 24).
The cleaning personnel was mean, bathrooms and sleeping dorms are organized weirdly and the shared room is different from what I expected.
I thought of seperating social rooms and kitchen, maybe even having more than one shared space. But its all in one place. Also, the kitchen does not provide any oven / herd, so cooking is not an option.
Bunks at Rode is a good opportunity for a short stay in Oslo, especially when spending most of the time outside of the hostel. Other than that, I cannot recommend it.
What I liked the most is the socially interactive personell and the small events they are pursuing. What I disliked the most is the showers. It seems that you are supposed to walk around with your towel and change in your dorm. If its a mixed dorm, then there is little room for changing privately (which is in your own bed). Other than that, you risk that your clothes get wet, as the showers (seperated from each other with a lockable door) don't provide space for changing.
