The hotel was right on the lake and had a lovely beach. A great place for kids. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There’s many winery’s to visit close by. You can make your own meals or there’s a good selection of restaurants near the hotel. I would definitely recommend The Poplars Hotel.

Good location. Have direct access to the lake from property. Room clean with a kitchenette and microwave oven. But it was super noisy and unbearable in the bathroom with loud vent/fan linked to the light switch and not possible to turn it off separately. Also the noise from upstairs room while other guests walking or kids running was really annoying too.

Our room was nice and clean, recently renovated. The staff were friendly. For a light sleeper the room is a little noisy. There is a pub near by and the food was good. There is not much else around to see other than the water and beach. We enjoyed our overnight stay.

Two nights in the fall

This would be a good place for a summer holiday on a beach for a young family. We were using it as an early fall two day for a celebration of life event so didn't take advantage of the lake or relaxation offered. There are 5 natural gas barbecues that are veru useful so we had a family cook out on the first night on the picnic tables provided (as seen in the picture). Even though fall-ish it was still quite warm so the air conditioners worked overtime. They are not quiet and seem to come on at the weirdest times. Basically full blast - then off - then full blast.

Staff was amazing and very friendly. Although the motel is an older building, the rooms are very clean with some newer upgrades. The venue itself is awesome being right at the water’s edge. Lovely BBQ area and picnic tables to enjoy outside. Overall a lovely experience and definitely a place we will return to. Thanks to Nicole for her friendliness and extreme helpfulness.
