Excellente adresse à Oudtshoorn

Un super accueil avec Superman John qui a vraiment effectué un traitement sur mesure. C est un très bel endroit situé tout proche de la ferme Highgate où l on peut voir les autruches. Sur l hôtel, l endroit est très calme et agréable et derrière l hébergement, on peut également observer les autruches. Les restaurant propose également d excellents plats et le buffet du petit déjeuner est excellent.

1 Nacht auf der Rundreise

Wir hatten uns sehr auf unsere Honeymoon Suite gefreut. Leider wurden wir enttäuscht. Wir hatten viele Spinnen auf dem Bett/ auf den Kissen. Das Personal war sehr bemüht und hat direkt reagiert um das Thema zu beheben. Uns wurde mitgeteilt, das die Betten frisch bezogen wurden, alle Spinnen im Raum weggesaugt wurden und auch kein Insektenspray (darum hatte ich gebeten) verwendet wurde. Leider waren die Kissen/ Betten nicht neu bezogen und eine Raum-/Insektenspray kam auch zum Einsatz. Immerhin waren die Spinnen weg. Das Bett war OK. Das Bad war recht modern und sauber, der restliche Raum war eher verwohnt. Die Terrasse war nicht gefegt und die Sitzkissen hatten Stock. Wir wollten die schöne Aussicht nach dem Abendessen dort nicht genießen. Eine Honeymoon Suite stellt man sich anders vor. Loben muss man die Bemühungen des Personals um uns unseren Aufenthalt angenehm zu gestalten. Wir wurden am Abend zu einer Flasche Wein eingeladen, was wir auch zu schätzen wussten. Das Essen war gut. Die Sauberkeit im Restaurant auf dem Tisch/ Salz-/Pfefferstreuer, Besteck und Teller war nicht gegeben. Haben wir beim Abendessen noch darüber hinweg gesehen hat es uns beim Frühstück doch sehr gestört. Beide Pools waren trübe, wir wollten dort nicht baden. Es war bei der Buchung nicht ersichtlich, das das Guesthouse aus 2 voneinander getrennten (ca. 500m) Guesthäusern gehört. Auch wenn wirklich alle bemüht waren, hat es für uns im Endergebnis nicht gereicht. Wir würden nicht wieder kommen.

Die Unterkunft ist nur zu empfehlen, auch mit Kindern. Das Personal ist ausgesprochen aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Das Abendessen ist gut, das Frühstück sogar herausragend - das beste, das wir in Südafrika gegessen haben. Die Zimmer sind großzügig, die Bäder top - renoviert und sauber. Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit!

Highlight

Sehr schönes, außerhalb von Oudtshoorn gelegenes Guesthouse. Unser Zimmer war sehr geräumig, sauber und schön eingerichtet. Der Service war exzellent und das Essen ebenso. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut und Abends kann man auf Wunsch ein 3 Gänge Menü genießen. Beides wird in einer Art gemauerten Pavillon neben dem Pool mit Blick auf die Klein Karoo und die Berge im Hintergrund serviert. Der Pool ist ebenfalls sehr nett und lädt zum auszuruhen auf einer der Sonnenliegen ein. Jeden morgen um 9 Uhr wird eine private Farmtour für die Gäste angeboten die sehr empfehlenswert ist.

Nice place and great pool. Didn’t like the fact that you only have a set menu and no real choice. Basically food in Oudtshoorn is very meat oriented. Internet and Wi-Fi is really bad.

We loved it and food wine etc was all good. Service was very good maybe a little too attentive at times and if relaxed a little it would feel more comfortable . But saying that all the staff were above and beyond caring and helpful even funny at times . We loved it here so thank you our first stay on an ostrich farm which was interesting especially when we ordered it for our evening meal. Thankfully when it was dark we could eat on the terrace without seeing our feather friends just a step away. We loved the area so peaceful and time to chill after our hectic schedule xx

Very comfortable hotel in lovel grouwith great poo

We were advised to visit the area, which involved a detour off the Garden Route. Mooiplaas is a great hotel, part of an ostrich farm. Some lovely touches wiith a cool drink presented on arrival and a small decanter of port was left in the room. Rooms are large and well equipped with a small patio to the front offering nice views. Lovely infinity pool.Breakfast is included and continental and full English on offer. The local town is 15 minutes drive but has little to offer. The main attraction other than ostriches is the Cango caves.

Wir waren als Familie da (1 Kleinkind) und haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Angenehm großes Zimmer mit neuem komfortablen Bad. Babybett wurde gestellt. Toller Pool und sehr netter Service. Das Essen war ok - im Vergleich zu anderen Unterkünften etwas einfacher. Wir würden hier wieder für einen Zwischenstopp übernachten, Zu empfehlen ist die Übernachtung mit einem Besuch der Straußenfarm zu verbinden.

Awesome location

Our stay was comfortable and we had a great time It must be said that the availability of management was non existent and the staff seemed overwhelmed at times. The staff where incredible however did not seem well trained to meet the requirements of 4 star grade. The staff where always willing to help and I must compliment them If you’re able to look past this then this is a fantastic place to launch excursions into the Karoo. Wonderful location, views and place to stay with comfortable rooms, great pools and good ambience in the evenings

Great staff!

It was winter lull and we were the only guests. However, staff in the restaurant were very nice and made dinner for us as well as set up a beautiful Breakfast buffet the next morning. Room was nice but can get a little cold in winter.

Mooie locatie buiten Oudtshoorn , zeer gastvrij! Hadden op dag zelf geboekt, zodat alleen kamer aan achterzijde nog beschikbaar, waar alleen een deur en klein raam aanwezig zijn. Volgende keer zou ik kamer aan voorzijde boeken!

Loved the location and the friendly staff. The pool was an added bonus. View over mountains was stunning. The aroma of the charcoal grill cooked dinner very inviting as well.

Superb and great staff

Spent two nights here at this excellent guest house, what a great place to chill. We had the end room in their new accommodation across the room from the main building. Would totally recommend. Check in was warm and efficient with a nice cool drink and lots of great info. Rooms were excellent in every respect. Good mini-bar at realistic prices too.... We had an evening meal at the main house that was good value and the lamb was excellent. Letticia our waitress was so nice, so professional and fun. Woke up in the morning and our car had been washed. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice in a lovely environment. Great little pool for cooling off, but sitting on the veranda watching a lightening storm pass over the Karoo was superb. This really is a good choice for a stop. The staff especially at the annex were superb. Great place, great staff and great value.
