"I had a very frustrating experience with the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas.
The purpose of my trip was business, and I booked a one-week stay through Agoda for $650. Unfortunately, due to severe weather, my travel was heavily disrupted—my first flight was delayed by 8 hours and then canceled, and my second flight was delayed by another 6 hours. As a result, I arrived at the hotel one day late.
When I finally arrived (around midnight), both the front desk staff and the self-service kiosk were unable to locate my reservation. I immediately contacted Agoda, and they attempted to reach the hotel, but were unsuccessful due to the late hour.
Exhausted and with no energy to search for another hotel, I had no choice but to book a new reservation on the spot. The next morning, I contacted Agoda again. This time, they were able to reach the hotel and confirm that my original booking did, in fact, exist.
However, by then it was too late—I had already paid again for the same stay (this time $800 through Expedia due to last-minute pricing). A different receptionist was able to find my original booking and contacted Agoda to process a cancellation, but since more than 24 hours had passed, Luxor refused to refund the first night.
As a result of the front desk/kiosk failure, I lost approximately $200 ($150 due to last-minute rebooking price difference + $60 for the non-refunded first night). Luxor refused to take responsibility for this error.
