We unfortunately lost the keys for one of the rooms, it must have fallen out of my pocket after parking and walking to a restaurant. The owner freaked out about that, we accepted responsibility and apologised. “Wellington was very helpful during our stay”

“Very convenient and near vineyards. Comfortable, with kitchenette, WiFi and free parking. The should make provisions for backup power during load shedding, Internet remained on butI was in the dark for a couple hours.”

“It is lovely accommodation and restaurants are walking distance. The stains on the headboard, carpets and oil marks on the walls was a little off putting. Also no fans in the rooms. One aircon in the lounge and that is it. We couldn't open the windows as people were slamming doors and kids talking and you could hear all the cars/trucks on the roads. Windows are double glazed so you can't hear anything. Staff are super friendly, thumbs up on that!!”

“Great area and property ! Travelled from the uk with family to Cape Town on holiday . Everything in apartment was fine except they could do with having fans or AC. Especially for those of us coming from colder climates not used to the heat there. Check in process could be better too . Overall safe area with a lot of security, it’s a gated community so you feel very safe .”

“We had a wonderful stay at the Sunset Cottage. The home was quaint, romantic, and had a great view. The restaurant was great (we ate breakfast there). Close walk to town. Everything was perfect! ”

“Cottage was spacious with comfortable beds, fluffy towels and good amenities, fixtures and fittings. We arrived just on dark and there were no dining options, power was limited to a few lights, due to daily "load shedding", so unable to microwave or even get a cup of tea until full power returned an hour or more later. Next morning unable to find a suitable power outlet for hairdryers supplied - on checking out was advised compatible points beside/under beds??? Staff were personable and helpful...

“I was somewhat disappointed. For a place that advertised luxury it wasn’t at all luxury. There was a distinct smell in the room and simple items that denote luxury weren’t there apparent. Couch was soiled and bath towels were thin and overages from years of use. ”

“I liked the access to the gym & pool facilities, the availability of washer, dryer , cooking facilities, a balcony , great scenery, great walking/jogging trek Only challenge was the internet connection to the tv had issues. The technician did his best to attend and assist. ”

“We chose the Champagne Apartment and it was perfect for our needs. Plenty of room, everything you could possibly need and well considered amenities. Lynn and Mick were very kind hosts inviting us for Happy Hour drinks after a well needed swim in the pool on a very hot day. It was a very short walk into town and very quiet, safe and restful.”

The gardens and farm are not a performance - at over 2000 acres and something like 700 staff they somehow manage to seamlessly blend luxury with genuine production, and the variety is extraordinary.
