"I had a horrible experience at the Colony Hotel. After my last night, I woke up with bug bites all over the lower portion of my body. The bites were in the pattern and coloring of bed bug bites. When I checked the bed more closely, I found a dead bug and hair under the mattress. This made me seriously question whether the room had been properly cleaned or inspected before my arrival.
The condition of the room was unacceptable, and I notified management immediately upon my discovery. The hotel claims they had the room inspected for bed bugs, but of course they would say that. I texted pictures to a bed bug inspector, who said the bites did look like bed bug bites. When I arrived home after a five-hour flight, I could not enter my home for fear of infesting it and had to either professionally clean all my clothes or keep them in trash bags outside for several days. It was a huge stress, inconvenience, and additional cost.
I reported the issue to the hotel, but they refused to offer any acceptable resolution. They offered a free upgrade for my next stay, which felt insulting under the circumstances. After that, they stopped responding to me altogether. The lack of accountability and follow-up made an already unacceptable experience even worse.
Guests should be able to expect a clean, sanitary sleeping area and respectful customer service when serious concerns are raised. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I would not recommend this property to anyone."
