“The best stay we stayed at in CR! We stayed at 8 different stays and this was the best one. Their dinner cooked on stovefire, their welcome snacks and chocolate, cacao tour and just living on the farm was incredible”

“La mansion is in a beautiful location, and has nice views of the lake. The swimming pool and hot tub (more of a warm-tub) were great. I also loved our bright yellow room with crazy tiles thoughout the bathroom. The restaurant was ok. I would recommend eating at one of the local sodas instead. Overall, a great spot if you have a car to explore the area(Including La Fortuna)”

“This is a wonderful location near the national park. If you are wanting to hike the waterfall trail in the national park, it is only about a 5-10 minute drive from this hotel. The hotel is unique in its design and location. It is nestled into the natural surroundings, and the grounds are lovely. “The location and property are absolutely beautiful! Incredible views! The grounds are kept meticulously! The rooms are clean and neat. The rooms are simple and yet elegant at the same time. The staff were very forgiving of my limited Spanish. A little harder to get to but worth the drive. The restaurant on property was excellent. Just a small sidenote… There was no air conditioner in my smaller room. I knew this going into it and the nice breeze that was almost constant.”

“The view and the owner/hostess made our stay! The personal attention at breakfast was delightful. This feels more like renting a villa with a morning chef than like a hotel. There are a couple good restaurants at the bottom of the hill for dinner. The drive to La Fortuna is 30 minutes. Be aware there is no air conditioning. There are windows with screens on 3 sides of the villa so the breeze is nice. In the morning you’ll hear a beautiful symphony of birds. I would stay here again.”
