"Atlantis is a spectacular property. The sheer scale of the resort, the incredible marine habitats, and the thrill of the waterpark are completely unmatched. Walking through the Dig and seeing the sharks up close was a massive highlight, the beaches are pristine, and the grounds are beautifully maintained.
However, our vacation took a turn for the cinematic when the resort experienced a power outage. Normally, a brief blackout is a minor inconvenience—unless you happen to be stuck inside an elevator when it happens.
Yep, I was trapped in a pitch-black elevator mid-floor when the grid went down.
It was a nerve-wracking, claustrophobic experience waiting for the backup systems and staff to coordinate. While I was safely extracted in the end, communication from the resort during the immediate aftermath could have been much sharper given the size of the property.
Atlantis is absolutely a bucket-list destination with world-class amenities. Just maybe take the stairs if it looks stormy, or pack a little extra patience just in case!
