I would have given this place 5 stars for the beautiful hotel, immaculate and clean rooms and friendly staff. But my partner and I stayed for 6 nights and 5/6 nights we couldn't sleep because of the loud, open-air club down the street. They even have huge sub woofers on tree tops! Since the hotel is a heritage building, it does not have modern insulation that can keep out the noise (ex: the wooden room door has open slits on them, so no sound proofing from outside noises). The music would start playing around 9pm and would get progressively louder and louder until 2/3am in the night. When we finally get sleep at 3am, we woke up from the mosque prayers at 6am. Ear plugs do not help. First we were told it was the world cup, then the next day it was just a one time party, etc. We ended up switching three different rooms to try to get as far away as possible from the noise. Finally, on our last night, they moved us into a sister hotel down the street (which was far enough from the club that we could sleep). Really wished they had moved us from the start instead of getting our hopes up and making us pack every other day for a different room. It felt like they wanted to pretend it wasn't a problem until it was honestly too late for us (lack of sleep for consecutive nights was really grating on us).
