Reasonable 1 night stopover
We stayed 1 night for a break when driving. Good value, and is an ex residential property and the room is like an ensuite in a typical home rather than a motel. Good for a couple. Nice balcony but it was raining so we couldn't take advantage.

Good location for walk to town and getting to ferry, reasonable price, amazing people willing to go above and beyond to help us. South facing room so quite hot. Other rooms had ac so be sure to ask for it.

I did not get the Inn that I booked.
They put me in the motel as they told me the Inn I booked was full. I don't believe this to be true. There were no vehicles in the guest parking lot of the Inn. The motel was old and had not been renovated in a long time if at all since it was built. Lights on the wall did not work as there were no bulbs in them. The beds were hard and definitely not new. Would not recommend this location.

Exceeded my expectations for the price. Also in perfect walking distance to enjoy the sunset over the water.

- they charged us 10 CAD more for the night than in the booking confirmation given - used linen were lying around in the hallway + off-road parking was available (off-season, end of september)

Very quaint town with beautiful ocean view. We were able to walk by the harbour which was very enjoyable.

This inn was wonderful. Bed was so comfortable and room was very clean and cozy. Of all the places we stayed this was my favorite.

Not what I thought....
I was not overly impressed with this particular place. First of all it was search under B&Bs but breakfast was not included. And although it was ok, I didn't feel it was worth the money. A bit dingy. The good thing was that we had our own washroom, but I would have sacrificed and shared a washroom for an updated room. There was no kitchen at all. No one really on site not even the office. I was a bit disappointed.

Cockroaches in our bed
We had cockroaches in our bed... the owners have way too many hotels, thus why they were never present.

We were at the motel. Very dated mattress bad.
The staff was very nice. We did not stay at the inn but the motel property nearby. The bed and furniture were very worn and there were bugs.

No amenities, like a coffee maker!
Initially rented at the Inn but switched to the motel. No great but a place to stay for the night! Better than the car.

Not as we expected - we won't be back.
The check in "process" left something to be desired. We had no notification but there was no one at the site. We had to check in at another Dolan property down the road. The bathroom was very spacious with a large jetted tub but the room did not have access to the river view balcony as we expected based on the "rooms available" advertised in the Hotels.com ad. (Although the ad also mentioned a stand up shower only) The sink in the bathroom was cracked but was "patched" but still wasn't assuring. The lock on our room door was very sketchy and required us to frig around to get it to work. We were a little surprised at how far the walk was to downtown. It is still walkable but is closer to 15-20 minutes.

Cramped room with noisy traffic.
Arrive only to read I have to go down the street to check in and get a key. Say's coffee tea provided, no coffee in the coffee can. No AC therefore leave the window open to street traffic noise. Comfortable bed. No desk, only a TV table which works I guess. But so cramped for space.

Well maintained inn
A comfortable quiet room and a helpful host. Maureen was able to direct us to local restaurants for dinner and breakfast the next day. Although a coffee maker wasn't available in the room, it was conveniently available in a nook just outside the room.

There are several Dolans in Pictou. We stopped at one and there was a sign there to call a number to check in. That person sent us up thd street to another place. The description on Hotels.com was misleading. She gave us a room without air conditioning, but was nice enough to 'upgrade' our room to one with AC. When I checked out the room, I mentioned that I thought we were supposed to have a kitchen and she upgraded us to a room with a microwave. I am pretty sure we were the only people in that big house which was rather weird. The lobby was a mess with stuff every where. The room itself was not terrible, thanks to the 'upgrade'. It would have been terribly uncomfortable without the AC which sounded like it was on its last legs. Hopefully their other properties are nicer. I would not go back to this one.

It was a little run down but perfectly fine. We stayed in the motel which is not what we originally booked but was much easier and better for our young family. Staff was great

Very basic, but clean
I originally was to stay at the Inn, but with my legs being less than 100%, stair climbing is not something I like to do with suitcases. They kindly gave me a room at the motor court that is nearby. It was basic as basic can be, but it was clean and neat. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Comfortable Inn stay
This is actually a collection of inns and motels in the town of Pictou. The room we had in the main Inn was very cozy and comfortable, neat and clean. Staff was friendly and the location is great- near the waterfront of Pictou and close to highways and grocery stores for travellers.

Belle chambre
Nous avions réservé une chambre, qui à l'arrivée n'était plus disponible. Nous avons été surclassé dans un autre emplacement du Dolan's inn and suite et c'était parfait! La chambre était propre et comportait même un bain à remous.

Our GPS got us lost so we arrived after 9PM, but the landlord came and let us in. Everything was nice, the Jacuzzi had some issues (didn't have many jets working and then stopped completely) but other than that it was a welcome refuge

Down town Pictou quiet appartment
At first it was confusing because when you book with Expedia online , you don't realize that there are 3 different locations within Pictou wiith the name Dolan's Inn. The main building and office is located at the entrance of town, I was tired after a long trip and the owner told me my room was in another building in town, Once we were there, she was really nice and helpful to guide us and accomodate us, but I would have liked to know ahead of time the situation. The appartment was spacious and had all we needed to cook, a nice spa bath that worked welll and nice balcony, large and thick beds, huge tv wi-fi and right down town, large kitchen and clean. Pictou and about 5 minute drive to a supermarket. I was very quiet with air conditionned. I would have liked shampoo provided.

Great place to stay
Staff very friendly & helpful. Upgraded to a suite do to unexpected overbooking. Staff escorted us to another site, made sure room was to our liking and was ready for us. Beautiful view of the bay. Great nights rest. Spacious.

Kind of old, kind of new
The building is one of Charlottetown's oldest, but for the most part they have fixed it up nicely. The room was cozy: comfy bed, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, small kitchenette. But the toilet ran constantly and the shower was unfinished. I saw a hornet coming up through the floor of the shower and didn't want to risk stirring up a hornets' nest literally! It's within in walking distance of virtually everything you'd want to see in Charlottestown.

Clean cheap room
You get what you pay for. Room was tiny and as described. Example, the ad said there was a coffee maker and there was. There was no coffee nor filters. Tim Horton's was a quarter mile away, great coffee. there was a downstairs fridge you could use. No USA cell phone reception anywhere in Pictou. Tony Dolan let me call home his downstairs phone. Room had great WiFi and a Modern DVR hooked up to an old non Hi Def TV. Room had a great one person jacuzzi tub. Lots of traffic noise, Inn is right on main road to Pictou which is charming little town. there is a paper mill right across the harbor, when the wind is wrong it really stinks.
