โIt was a very comfortable and clean room.
It's hard to find any restaurants within walking distance.
Conveniently located for visiting Huntington and Cold Spring Harbor.
The external view is literally "Plainview".โ
โI am here for NYC Ironman 70.3 This property works great for that type of 1 night, no frills stay. The staff person was great! Requested a room 1st fl, near where I could park (car is literally 43 steps from my room :-). โ
โwhat i didn't like is that the rooms were not fully up dated. i mean it was just painted over, poorly and plumbing repairs were done lousy, could have been done professionally . rooms needed to be brought up to better grade for electronic use, Needs to have USB outlets in room for use with phones and tabletsโ
โActually I went there for my filming. But it was located too far from the places that I was supposed to take filming. First of all it was very very inconvenient for me to commute from the hotel to the spots I wanted to visit... There's no transportation from the hotel to the nearest train station. So I can't help walking on foot to get the station. It took over 40 minutes with my heavy equipment including cameras and tripod.โ
โThe Vanderbilt Hotel proved to be an excellent hotel and the accommodations were very spacious and clean.
I had to travel to Long Island and stay at a hotel that was close to the Cradle of Aviation Museum and the Vanderbilt was on my radar before I moved forward with booking an overnight stay there.
What made me book my reservation was a friendly conversation I had with the front desk staff whom I called the day prior.
