Recently, my girlfriend and I enjoyed a weekend getaway that I surprised her with at Oheka Castle. It was an incredible experience from the moment we checked in. The staff, restaurant, and grounds were absolutely amazing, and every detail helped make our stay memorable.
It is an old castle so plan for it not to be perfect. I do think the furnishings need to be updated. All the furniture is old and banged up…. Not sure if this is done purposely?? We loved our bathroom. We were told breakfast was at 7am but it was not. We came down at 7:15 and they were not even close so we had to go out to a diner…. We had an appointment. Staff was super friendly and nice. The restaurant and bar was cool but only open until 9pm when we were there
Oheka Castle is a gem. Surpassing the magnificent setting and architecture, THE STAFF could not have been more gracious, helpful, and welcoming. I'm a very "tough customer", with high expectations and a degree of intolerance for less than the best. Every person working at Oheka Castle during my recent stay was AWESOME. Fantastic employees at front desk, restaurant, security, and cleaning. This large French countryside Castle can be a bit unusual to navigate, so I asked for an escort to walk with me to my room each night from the beautiful exterior courtyard, and the terrific young security man was delighted to help. He treated me with dignity, understanding, and a perfect dose of respectful humor (because no one should ask for help returning to their room.) Each Front Desk person/manager was warm, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Breakfast was delicious, and beautiful. The rooms were spacious (I had two) and the bathrooms were luxurious. I even got "take-out" morning coffee in a china cup (because I dont like how paper cups change the taste of coffee.) I will definitely return and I hope the new investors keep the staff members and make them as happy to work there as they seem to be now. (Stayed early October 2026.)
Beautiful grounds and castle. Really cool experience to stay in a castle that has so much history on long island. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and an awesome restaurant/bar.
Aaaamazing! This should be on everyones bucket list! The room I stayed in was so comfortable I extended my stay. This is not like a hotel its do quiet and peaceful you feel like you’re the only person staying here and like royalty. Im looking forward to returning in Spring to see how lovely it is with flowers in bloom. I met my knight in shining armor he was standing by the valet parking door. lol took a great picture with.
We met the owner and he was very friendly and nice.

What stood out was Denis, who checked us in on our first night. He gave us such a warm, friendly welcome that it made us feel truly appreciated—something we especially needed after a long day of travel on that cold, rainy night. Having stayed here nearly a decade ago, his kindness made it feel as though we were returning home.
This is a transportative experience that lives up to every expectation. We loved the room, the staff was wonderful as was every other aspect of our stay.
Amazing decor , staff extremely friendly and helpful, food was amazing. This was worth the money and you must do the tour and have dinner at the ohk bar and restaurant. I highly recommend staying at least one night, well worth the experience.
I had the most memorable experience during my anniversary celebration, everything was perfect. From the moment we arrived, Mikey the valet was incredibly helpful and check in was smooth at front desk. I mixed-up my dinner reservation, but Johnny made sure we were well taken care of. Mike provided outstanding service during our dinner at the restaurant, and Dennis at the front desk gave us excellent local recommendations. Truly a fantastic stay!
Welcoming staff at valet to very friendly and helpful at the front desk. Room was spacious and clean. Comfortable bed- beautiful bathroom with standalone tub and shower. Restaurant and bar had excellent drinks and food. Thank you for a wonderful experience , would love to stay again
The property was historic and very beautiful. It was quiet and peaceful. The food in the restaurant was very good. Parking was convenient and free. The grounds were immaculate and we were able to walk all around and see the magnificent landscape.
