Das Hotel ist sehr sauber und die Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich. Das Frühstücksbuffet im angrenzenden Restaurant ist für ein 2 Sterne Hotel relativ gut, jedoch einwenig chaotisch, der Service jedoch immer sehr bemüht und sehr freundlich. Man sollte immer bedenken, dass wir dort Urlaub machen, die Mitarbeiter jedoch ihre alltägliche Arbeit und nicht immer so entspannt sind, wie wir selbst und schätzen, dass die Feundlichkeit und Höfflichkeit dieser trotzdem immer vorhanden ist. Wer jedoch mit nächtlicher Lautstärke nicht umgehen kann, sollte dieses Hotel nicht wählen, denn es befindet sich mitten in der Altstadt von Ponta Delgada in einer Fußgängerzone mit Restaurants und Bars wo es bis in die späte Nacht hinein sehr lautstark zugehen kann. Mir persönlich macht das nichts aus und ich habe in den sehr bequemen Betten sehr gut schlafen können. Die Zimmermädchen machen einen einwandfreien und lobenswerten Job. Parken kann man kostenpflichtig (1,20 €/Std.) überall in den anligenden kleinen Strassen, jedoch gibt es auch in naheliegender Umgebung (600-800m) auch kostenfreie Parkplätze oder Strassen. Check in und check out ist schnell und reibungslos verlaufen, mit dem Angebot uns ein Frühstück (zum Mitnehmen) vorzubereiten, da wir schon um 5 Uhr morgens zum Flughafen los mussten. Für mich persönlich ist das kleine Stadthotel für den angebotenen Preis definitiv eine klare Empfehlung unter den vorangegangenen Voraussetzungen und ich würde es wieder buchen.

Overall, the property was Good: breakfasts, the dinner we had, the rooms were all as expected; the interior decor is good: the dining room had a display cabinet with an old radio set I remember from when I was a kid!! The location is a short walk (downhill) to the City Gates, good for buses, shops and marina with its shops and restaurants. Unfortunately, we were in a street facing room where, on Wednesday night, we were woken up by music and what must have been karaoke at about 0130 (Thursday). When we made a complaint to the front desk Thursday morning, they were sympathetic and moved us to another room without issue. They said they had previous issues with noise, even to the extent of calling the police - who would seem powerless to act, as the licence for the venue (Outrolado, next door to the hotel) is for Wednesdays to Sundays, 1900 to 0200. This venue is the only one of its sort in the area: the licence seems at odds with the locale. Once I find out to whom to moan at in PDL, I intend to write a letter of complaint. The hotel doesn't need it and I guess, neither do any locals who live nearby.

The hotel is located in the city center and easy to find. The breakfast is great I loved the fresh squeezed orange juice!

Only book one room at a time
I booked two double rooms, one 11 months out and one 8 months out. I confirmed with them that the rooms were good since they were checking I didnt accidentally book 2 rooms. 2 weeks before they tell me that the single room wouldn't be available and wanted to see if we can take a triple room. I never booked a single room but was told that even though I paid the price for a room with a double bed because it was a single traveler they were going into the single room. My mom rebooked herself into another hotel and let them know, waited a few days and they never cancelled my mom's room, not sure if they were hoping I forgot and they could keep it, they were surprised when I cancelled it asking if I was still planning on staying there. I ended up getting a triple room even though I just wanted the double, not sure if they were planning on sticking us both in this room and collecting the fees for 2 rooms. Later when checking out the 'locked' room with my bags was unlocked and the door was wide open, I walked out with my bags without telling anyone. If you are a single visitor and want a double room, say you have two people otherwise they will downgrade you.

Great location, everything was clean
Ideally located on pedestrian street, good sized room for a 2 star. The grab and go breakfast for early departures was great. They also booked my taxi for 4:45 am. Overall just a good deal.

O hotel é muito limpo, os colaboradores são atenciosos, a cama confortável, fica no centro histórico. Tudo o que é necessário para descansar e conhecer a ilha. Existe uma grande dificuldade para estacionar, as ruas são estreitas e todas com parquímetro.

As Ponta Delgada changes and grows our visits and where we stay changes too as we try new areas.....this was a great spot. Thank you....we enjoyed our stay here....very content with our room. We enjoyed this area of the city. It was just a perfect breakfast- thank you for this too.

Awesome stay
Great place to stay in a vibrant spot. Close to a lot of Cafes , restaurants, and a lot of things to do . Great Customer Service. Tasty breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice .Breakfast to go was made for me with juices and yogurt. Much appreciated! They made arrangements for my taxi transport to the airport . Awesome place to stay and very very quiet… slept well!!!

OK hotell og frokost, behagelig med badekar. Mye støy fra gaten men godt isolerte vinduer. Om kvelden oppsto et forferdelig bråk som varte i timesvis. Da vi klaget mente resepsjonisten det måtte skyldes kjøkkenet under og at det ville avta når de stengte kl 22:30. Dagen etter stilte de seg uforstående til at det kunne ha vœrt bråk.

Desta vez, foi-me atribuído um dos quartos que não sofreu renovação. No geral, a estadia correu bem mas um ou outro pormenor no quarto ficou aquém do esperado pela razão que referi. Sempre espetacular é o profissionalismo, boa disposição (há raras exceções infelizmente) e disponibilidade da equipa do restaurante e receção.

We were both very happy with our recent stay at the Hotel Alcides. The staff were fantastic and very friendly and helpful! The rooms were modern and very clean! The hotel is located at a fantastic location a short walk to the Town gates and the main squares. Lots of shopping and dining options available in the immediate area . We hope to return in the future and would definitely recommend the Alcides!
