Breakfast was great especially the staff there and the one hotel receptionist Tatiana. She was lovely and so kind. There was a male receptionist in a suit with glasses who was quite rude and blunt (I almost cancelled our stay due to how he spoke to us) but once we dealt w Tatiana she was amazing. She was so busy and never stopped yet always so helpful and cheerful. Breakfast staff (everyone was incredible and so happy and kind especially to our kids who adored them).

Loved the hotel. Great service and facilities. On walking distance from the old town (20m-30m). Other options also fine. Uber is very cheap and public transport closeby. Just didnt like the garage not easily accessible by stairs or lift from the appartments. Got lost in the garage, ended up in a completely different building, had to get to a completely different lift. Minor inconvenience fir an otherwise great stay.

Not bad

The hotel is the less-nice section of the Holiday Inn that it is housed in. This means that the rooms are not as nice but the amenities (pool, bar, dining room) are great. Our room had a broken lock and was missing towels and bedding when we arrived. The towels and bedding were resolved quickly, the lock never got fixed. The next day the cleaning staff cleaned up our room and took the used towels but didn’t replace them, leaving us with two towels for a family of 4.

This hotel was in Gaia a district near Porto. I didn't realize that it was not in Porto when I booked but it turned out to be a great stay. The location is quiet and we got to Porto using Uber daily. We needed 2 bedrooms since we have kids and it turns out it is not too easy to find affordable 2 bedroom hotels/accommodation in Europe so I was happy to find this residence. It was comfortable and clean. My only negative is that I requested fully stocked kitchen and indeed we were provided with some cutlery and crockery. There were no sharp knives to cut food and we did not have dish soap or sponge or paper towels which is usually a requirement, I would think, of a kitchen. Regardless we made it work and had a great stay.

Gaia Residence is in Holiday Inn but they don’t say this. You get a nice big room but it lacks the basics like a dust bin in the room and, dining table and chairs. There’s a tiny kitchen with a hob, kettle and microwave but not really useful without the dinner table. Breakfast on 2nd floor is fine but similar each day. Hotel is quite far out in Gaia city and not that well served by public transport although we used the Andente Tour card to get the buses within 10 minutes walk. There’s a supermarket about 5 minutes away where you can buy water and stuff.
