The location is perfect, on the Mala Strana side of the Charles Bridge. Close to many restaurants and parks in the area, and just across the Old City. The staff in the Tourist Office (that serves as hotel staff since there is no reception in the building itself) was really helpful. On the last day after checkout, we left the luggage in the office and when we came back at the end of a rainy day, they gave us towels and allowed us to use their bathroom to change our clothes.

Now I think it's easier to get the minor negatives out of the way first because this is an excellent hotel in a phenomenal location but it isn't for everyone. First, if you have mobility issues or cannot carry luggage up flights of stairs, don't choose here. The stairs are steep and narrow in places. And I saw reviews complaining about the noise. My room was mostly quiet. I had two sets of windows that blocked out 98% of the noise. You are at the base of the Charles Bridge. It is HEAVILY touristed. But it is great to be so close to everything. Bring comfortable shoes for the Prague Castle hill climb! I had the 3rd floor suite and would book it again in a second. I don't need spa treatments or a pool or several onsite restaurants. I need a unique, clean, comfortable room with some charm and a bit of local flavor. Nailed it. And the price is excellent for how nice the place is. Fast wifi, large suites, comfortable furniture, all in a very attractive room. I didn't come to Czechia to stay in international chain hotels. I'm aiming for local flavor, local feel. Do yourself a favor. If you can handle the steps, and the front desk across the street, get a room here. And then step outside and stroll with everyone else on the bridge, soaking in the charm and beauty of Prague.

This was by far the most beautifully appointed hotel suite we’ve ever stayed in. The hardwood floors, modern bathroom, comfortable king-sized bed with large windows that open were amazing. With stunning views of lesser town and St. Nicholas Church, you are steps away from the Charles Bridge. Domus Balthasar is the perfect location to immerse yourself in all Prague has to offer! We will be back!

This boutique hotel is different, with no lobby or services. Regardless, the room and amenities were wonderful. The room was quiet eventhough it was on the mala strana. Very convenient location so we could walk to the palace and old town. Great restaurants nearby.

Short stay in Prague (Mala Strana)

Our two night stay in Prague - Mala Strana was just what we were expecting and more! Our room was amidst the old part of Prague - an old building with modern facilities. Our room - at the top - was set in the eaves and gave us a spectacular view of the church spires and buildings nearby. Our room provided us with a clean, comfortable place to stay with all the facilities you would expect - a modern room set in one of Prague's old buildings - a delight.

Rooms are nice, clean and spacious. Location is great. I do not recommend the breakfast. I thought breakfast was inside the hotel but it is in an actual restaurant. The restaurant staff weren't the nicest and food was cold and just average, not bad but not great. I would rather have breakfast somewhere else. Keep in mind that there is no elevator and stairs are steep. We did struggle with our 70 year old mom bringing luggage down. Other than that beautiful building. I do recommend it 100%.

The hotel was in a great location, just near the end of the Charles Bridge. Our attic room was very cute, with a freestanding bath and a lovely big, comfy bed (but no shower). It was spotlessly clean. The staff at the nearby Tourist Information Centre were very helpful.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay. The hotel was close to a number attractions, restaurants and railway system. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommended visiting Prague and definitely recommend staying at the Domus Balthasar.

The room was excellent - big, clean, windows on 2 sides making it very airy and giving a fantastic view of the Charles Bridge. Excellent choice of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. The reception desk is based across the road but that was no issue - they even went out of their way to arrange chocolates as a birthday gift (without any prior request from my wife!). 10 min walk to the metro or 2 mins to tram stop. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfekt läge

Ett charmigt hotell med centralt läge, precis vid Karlbron. Gediget, smarta lösningar och precis lagom för oss. Men inget för rörelsehindrade eller bekväma personer. Måååånga trappor. Frukost äts på caféet bredvid. Inte värt att betala extra för det. Bättre välja ställe själva då frukost serveras på nästan var och varannat ställe runtomkring. Det var nonchalant personal och omysigt ställe. Snabb service från förmedlingen vid frågor och personal på informationen mitt emot som var bra tillmötesgående. Och matbutik precis bredvid.
