The location of this property was perfect, it was easy to find, quiet and felt safe. First time in a shared situation but all worked out fine. The staff was very helpful and respectful.
Enjoyed sharing a kitchen area with our 2 travel partners. Nice and clean, comfy bed, great shower, they needed some batteries in the remote control for the TV, and some light bulbs in lamps.
Really didn't like that they asked us to empty the garbage out back of the building into the...bin? We left at 5am for the ferry, so were unable to do that.
A surprising request, as we paid the same rate as a hotel; never been asked to empty the garbage before.
Otherwise a pretty good spot. Travis at the desk was very pleasant.
We had a pleasant stay at this guesthouse. The man who greeted us was friendly and welcoming. Our Queen room on the second floor was clean and comfortable, with a private bathroom and a nice mountain view from the balcony (the picture is taken from the balcony during sunset). There was plenty of parking behind the building, and the kitchen had useful amenities, including a kettle and an oven. Overall, it was a great value for a one night stay in Prince Rupert.
The property was fabulous. We stayed here years ago and since then it has grown to 3 buildings with renovated suites. It is immaculate. However, I know this is probably my fault for not testing first, but the bathtub was so slippery with cleaner that I actually slipped suddenly and threw my lower back out. There was no bathtub mat, so instead I placed a towel on the bottom to keep from slipping again. If a place can be "too clean", this is it! Very helpful front desk staff upon arrival and parking for our truck and trailer.
Great place to stay of fishing from Prince Rupert or catching the ferry with a family or group of friends. Has basic necessities available and is in quiet area
A welcoming facility with all that a weary traveler might need. Even had a kettle which is rare nowadays. an enjoyable stay that I extended since I was so comfortable
We arrived at midnight after the 16 hour ferry from Port Hardy and the check-in service was amazing. The gentleman was kind, efficient and made us feel so welcome. The room was super clean and had everything we needed to feel at home. It was also so quiet! Highly recommend!
We came in late night around midnight or 1am on both trips and each time there was a staff member waiting to check us in. Super appreciative of that level of service!! The Black Rooster is a collection of 3 separate buildings and we've stayed in 2 of them so far, each time the rooms have been clean and beds comfortable. Great facilities and easy parking around the buildings. They even offer pet friendly rooms. Highly recommend staying here when you visit or pass through Prince Rupert!!
