"All staff are cheerful, courteous and very helpful. My husband lost his wallet in the taxi, staff at reception were extremely helpful in reporting to the police, finding out the taxi company and relocating the driver. We were informed of the return of the wallet in a few hour. Very efficient indeed. Amenities like free snacks and drinks are replenished everyday. Generous portion too. Room is spacious for 3 beds. Very happy with our stay."

"The main building is absolutely beautiful, with gorgeous traditional architecture that makes you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. However, be careful when booking Chi Lin Pavilion, as it is a separate annex behind the main building and requires a shuttle bus to reach. I booked a Superior Room (Chi Lin Pavilion) through Hotels.com but was given a ground-floor room facing the road with no view, unlike the photos shown online. I had to pay extra to move to the main building to enjoy the view I expected. The same photos seem to be used for both buildings, so check your room category carefully before booking. On the positive side, dinner at the Golden Dragon was wonderful, with beautiful night views and professional service. The breakfast buffet offered a great selection of local, Western, and Japanese dishes. The concierge staff were very helpful despite the busy lobby, and the hotel shuttle bus was convenient for visiting the night market and MRT station. Overall, a beautiful hotel with excellent dining and service, but make sure you understand the room and building differences before booking."

"I would like to share one of your female staff unprofessional attitude at my check out experience. I left my room at 12 noon went to the lobby staying on line waiting for check out process. The front desk staff Bryan was busy with another guest. I was the next in line and another female staff in petite size with eyeglasses was just standing there without offering to help me. Then a group of 4 foreigners guests came down and joined the waiting line behind me. Then this female staff skipped me and jumped to help them right away. Why I was in the waiting line before this group was being ignored??? I have to give the compliment to staff Bryan who was very helpful. But your hotel needs to review this female staff's unfair treatment and unprofessional without helping me in check out and jumping to help the guests behind me??? You can review your CCTV to investigate. Thank you!"

"The room decor was small but modern and I like their use of wood. The bathroom was very clean though toiletries were very minimal. The staff were very friendly and helping with directions. "We appreciated having air conditioning in such a warm location. I was worried that our basement room would get too humid, but it wasn't really an issue. The lobby was comfortable. We did not try the breakfast. It was nice to be within walking distance of our favorite night market (Raohe). MRT line was about 10 mins, bus stop even closer. The shower was slightly slow to drain by the time we got to our last night."
