"Stayed two nights"

LYV Apartments - Berlin Neukölln

10/10 Excellent

"We stayed at the LYV on Karl Marx Strasse and I’d recommend it for people looking for apartment style accommodations in an area of Berlin that is pretty lively and has great access to the U-Bahn and the Ring-Bahn. There are lots of middle eastern restaurants, grocery stores, and parks nearby. The street does have a lot of street noise but when the windows are closed there is no issue. The curtains are thick, blackout style curtains. We were in a 2-bedroom unit and it was pretty spacious. The small kitchen has everything you need. Communication with the management was excellent. The building has just been completely renovated. During our stay (late May into early June 2026) they were still carpeting the common areas and renovating the top floor (5th floor) so we had some small issues during our stay that were dealt with quickly and were only temporary since the work is being finished soon. Going forward I would expect there will be no issues for guests."

"No concierge or early bag check - just a door with a code. A pain if you arrive any earlier than 3pm. Room was mostly clean and comfortable, but had some boogers on the wall… eugh. No real extra amenities except a bed and a shower and toilet. Otherwise totally acceptable and in a great area and affordable; you get what you pay for. Would recommend it if you just need a spot near that part of town to crash at. They did give me 30m of extra check out time for free so that was nice"

"This hotel is OK if you are staying for 1 or 2 nights and are happy to live out of your suitcase. However there are a number of issues if you are staying for a longer period. 1. Storage space - There are no drawers in the rooms, to put things like underwear or small clothing items. In the double room there was only one bedside cabinet which meant all my bedside items (book, phone etc) had to go on the floor 2. Bathroom - There wasn't one. The handbasin was in the passage between the door of the room and the bedroom section. There was a shower compartment which opened onto the bedroom with a curtain to hide you when you were showering. My wife loves me very much but did not particularly want to see me washing my "bits". 3. If you are female there is nowhere to put make up or any other things that a lady needs to make herself presentable on leaving the room. 4. Breakfast was nice but because the hotel appears to cater especially for tour groups it is difficult to get a table at times. 5. Hotel bar - There is no bar service,you have to wait for a waiter to take your order and bring it. On one occasion this resulted in a 15 minute wait before ordering and then a 30 minute wait for the drinks to arrive. 6. Room cleaning - They have an unnecessary technological system where you press a button the wall to request room cleaning the next day. We did this - the room was not cleaned. I am not sure how this is more efficient than hanging a note on your door requesting the room be cleaned"
