"Fabulous family-run hotel at the bottom of the Bavarian Alps. Modern, sustainable and lovely attention to detail. Walking distance from the historic centre of Bad Toelz, but quiet and with a stunning view right into the mountains. Have stayed twice and will go back again! "

"I would never stay in this hotel again. 1) When you arrive at Hotel Kolbergarten, it looks like it is closed -- no lights on, no signs of life. 2) After you wander around for a few minutes, you find a small sign that says you have to check in for your hotel at a different hotel. 3) Once you figure out where this other hotel is and how to get there, you have to deal with them taking (and keeping) all sorts of unnecessary personal information.... after waiting 20 minutes to be helped. 4) Once you pay your "tourist tax", you have to make your way back to the dark hotel. 5) ... that is unless you have to park a car, which requires you to find and park in a public lot. 6) When you checkout, the staff are overwhelmed, which means you again have to wait for 20 minutes to be helped or you just leave a key at the front desk and hope for the best. On the plus side, the breakfast was good... but it too is in the other hotel."
