We loved this hotel. It was so convenient to have a room code, rather than a key or a card, to access the hotel and room. The room was clean, cozy, and we found it very convenient having the kitchenette in the room so we could save a little money and have breakfast at our own pace! It's in a great location; about 5 mins down the road is the main dining and shopping strip, and the church and Rainbow Road are close by as well. The parking is free if you can find a spot along the front of the building; if not, the parking around on the other streets is paid, but not at a crazy rate.
I had a pleasant stay at Mjólk Hotel. Great location, and the room was clean, cozy, and provided with everything I needed. Keep in mind that this isn't a typical hotel with reception desk—all communication is done via chat. Additional note: the sheer curtain wasn't ideal for the white nights, though they do provide sleeping masks. Overall, I would definitely go back!"
Was in a good location, just at the end of the central area. We lucked out with free parking on the street in front. Rooms are quiet, clean and spacious. No daily room cleaning service, but don’t really need it.
The location is great and the room was well equipped. The only issue we had was that the hot water in the shower was barely lukewarm, but that is something that is likely easy to fix.
Stayed at this propoerty with my mom and we loved it! Our flight got in late but checking into the room at 2am was very easy. Some of the most comfortable beds we have stayed on and had great amenities in the room. We also ran into the owner on our way out who was very kind and caring and interested to hear about our stay and very receptive to our small feedback for improvements. Also a great location near the Flybus terminal and the main shopping street.

It’s hard to call this a hotel. There is not staff or no front desk. The rooms were hot and stuffy with windows open letting in loads of little black flies. The room was okay and was clean. But a little odd.

Contactless check in, so there’s no staff on site if you have issues. We ended up stuck outside for about half an hour waiting for someone. Besides that, it was pretty good. I don’t think I would do a contactless check in hotel again. It works when it works, but when anything goes wrong, it’s harder to get it addressed.
Great room!
Lots of space and a good half-kitchen which made it easy to prepare a meal from the BONUS grocery store on the main drag. Parking wasn't an issue.
One thing- read the emails before check-in, it might save you from the confusion of getting to the unattended hotel with no way to get inside. My confusion was easily cleared up when I actually opened the email- no problem.
Bring warm clothes- Iceland is awesome!
I booked this room for two, during a 24-hour layover in Iceland, and it was perfect. The room itself is very clean, modern and a pleasure to stay in.
Getting to the hotel: Two bus stops are close by, Stop 11 is closer, both are very short walks even with luggage. Which is very helpful if you're going to Iceland in the winter time.
Check-in: I'm not a huge fan of these self-check ins and this one was no exception. The process is always so clunky, especially if you're been flying for over 10-12 hours. You just want to sleep, fumbling for an e-mail and reading through a wall of text at 21:00 sucks.
The room: Amazing rooms. Appear to be brand new. Extremely clean and ours was the perfect size for 2 people. I give the room itself 5 stars, at the end is what matters.
Feedback for the hotel: I understand the theme of the room, but those light switches are a terrible choice. No need for fancy switches, when a normal one would have worked better. If you need instructions on how to use the lights, it's probably not worth it.
This hotel is exactly how it looks on the pictures, so I am grateful that there is no false advertising. Very clean, and very good location. To walk to Rainbow Street, which I consider quite central, maybe a 10 min walk. Otherwise just a few blocks down the street you have a strip of shops and restaurants. So location, on point. My only complain was that I tried to leave my luggage there prior to check-in. Communication with the host was great and no complaints there - quick responses. But, after being told I can leave my luggage prior to check in (granted, it would be unattended), I was unable to gain access into the building. There is a luggage storage place, not even 5 mins away walking, so it wasn't the end of the world, but I found that a bit frustrating if anything. BEDS are so comfortable, BUT you need some dark shades. They do provide you with a sleeping mask if needed. Couldn't figure out the coffee maker - maybe instructions should be left for that. All in all, great stay, and would recommend. And yes, I would stay here again if I ever return to Iceland, or at least consider staying here again. Also, I was unable to negotiate prior check-in, even paying the extra expense. I was not able to. Not sure why, as the hotel was not fully booked.
Really good apartments, only reason I’m
Not giving this a five star review is a couple of small problems we had with it that probably could have been solved with a handbook for arrivals. One was the light switches, which took some figuring out to operate. The other issue was the bathroom, basically the building’s water pressure is too high for the drains, so if you put the shower on at too high a rate then the bathrooms quickly flood. Not a problem once you figure out that just turning the shower on is good enough.
Amazing value very well presented accom in central reykjavik. Highly recommended and seriously one of the nicest places I stayed in reykjavik or even Iceland. I had direct street entry and electronic door code which made checkin super fast and simple. I had a couple of things popup during my stay and the staff were extremely responsive and very fast, including a last minute change to my travel plans. The location is perfect to get to everything you need (and 250m from one of the big tourist pickup spots for buses). The studio room with kitchenette was very nice and modern and spacious. It seemed almost like I was the first ever guest it was so nice.
Will definitely stay here again if I'm lucky enough to be in reykjavik again
