"A most charming place to stay nestled in the hills of the Massif Central, this was formerly the village school house and retains many original features. Dinner was provided by the hosts and was particularly well received. Breakfast was basic but no less delicious for that."

"Excellent traditional french logis hotel & restaurant run by the second & third generation of the family who created it from the family farm and full of old farm tools and implements. Very comfortable bed though traditional bolster with huge pillow and bed covers could be replaced. "This place shouldn't really be classified as a hotel, it's old and decrepit, the reception when we arrived was inaccessible, we weren't given any information by email on how to access it and the lady who eventually opened the door only spoke French so we interpreted various codes to access the lift, the front door and the room. The furnishings are anything from 20-40 years old, the room was beyond basic with no air conditioning and upon leaving the window open to be able to sleep all we could...

"We had a lovely overnight stay at this gorgeous little B&B. Very different from the usual chain hotel stays we have when travelling. Catherine was so friendly & helpful & even booked us dinner at a local restaurant which was delicious & amazing value. If you are after a great value taste of rural French hospitality, the Sandine & Catherine will be hard to beat. "
