Great hidden paradise

It's a hidden paradise, really good comfortable, cousy, construction, an incredible view to the beach and the mountains. Clean and comfortable beds, practical clean bathroom, great space. It's hidden up at the the hill, but it worth the climb! The host really gives "friends" tipe treatment, good advises, and also sell for food.

Great for laying low, hiking, misses some comforts

The location far away from everything with no services nearby might throw you off at first, but after a while it's relatively pleasant. This hostel is for chilling, laying low, sunbathing and hiking. Don't expect vibrant nightlife or trendy and busy restaurants - there are none within walking distance. The hostel itself is quite dirty, but otherwise pleasant. The hosts are super nice and really care about their hostel and the guests. The facilities are reasonable, and the patio and the pool are an awesome addition! Great place to lay low and relax by reading, for example. When you walk down to the village, you get a great beach and a supermarket to keep to your belly full - the kitchen at the hostel isn't open after 4 pm. There are some great hiking trails nearby, so this hostel is awesome headquarters if that's what gives you kicks.

Beach hut paradise outside of Rio

Our stay was excellent at the Banana Leaf with chill vibes, great food, and lovely service. A beautiful hostel that is tucked into a hill in a non-touristy part of the suburbs of Rio. Very close to good hiking and a nice little town with beachfront bars and a little grocery store. We would highly recommend a stay here. The staff was extremely helpful and nice.

The hostel is located up a very steep hill. Plenty of walking. You will need a car to get around. The staff is okay. The staff is always asking for money for everything.. Basically bring your own food and water
