Wonderful communication as soon as we booked and a warm welcome upon arrival. Claudio explained the grounds to us and even insisted to bring our bags to second level where our room was. room itself had small refrigerator for drinks, effective air conditioning and a welcome bottle of water. there is a cute table and chairs outside to enjoy the wonderful view of etna, pool, etc. every apartment also has a convenient drying rack which is smart. do yourself a favour and eat at the restaurant. authentic italian food with fixed menu. you will be so full. they also substituted the gluten free pasta for my intolerance.too bad it was only one night.. will be back!!

We booked a last minute trip and were treated like royalty. They went out if there way to make sure we were as comfortable as possible. The food was magnificent. The beds are firm, and there is no ac during dinner, but otherwise i would highly recommend. Claudio is fantastic

Bel accueil, hôte Gianni, très gentil, de bon conseil (en anglais ou en italien), tant pour les visites que pour les bons vins de la région de l’Etna; beau buffet petit-dej et excellente table le soir. Endroit bien aménagé, arbres fruitiers, terrasse, piscine. Belle grande chambre confo. Et même une vue sur le sommet de l’Etna!

We had an amazing stay at la Terra Del Mezzo! The pool and the view are awesome! Same for the food (breakfast and ! Claudio and his family avec really nice people! Do try the homemade limoncello

Einzigartig war die Lage inmitten einer biologischen Zitronenplantage. Die Betreiber der Unterkunft waren sehr freundlich und machten uns den Aufenthalt zu einem besonderen Erlebnis. Das Gelände im Hotelbereich und in den Zitronengärten war sehr ordentlich und liebevoll gepflegt. - Trotz der Hinweisschilder war der Ort nicht leicht zu finden, als wir von Catania ankamen war es Nacht. Die allgemeine Beschilderung der Straßen ist unübersichtlich. Das Navi machte, was es wollte.

Ruhiges Hotel in einer Zitronenplantage

Typisches Landhotel und nur mit Mietwagen zu empfehlen. Das Frühstück war gut aber immer gleich, von den angepriesenen frischen Säften fehlte jede Spur. Das Abendmenü bestand leider jeden Tag nur aus Pasta in jeglicher Form, deshalb haben wir nur zweimal dort gegessen. Da es zu unserer Reisezeit viele Mücken gab, wären entsprechende Fliegenfenster zu empfehlen. Das Hotel ist für tägliche Ausflüge gut geeignet ,aber nicht unbedingt zum Wohlfühlen, da die Gemütlichkeit fehlt und es auch sonst keine weiteren Annehmlichkeiten bietet.

Ruhige Oase im Trubel Siziliens

Wir waren im Juli 13 Nächte dort und haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Da wir mit dem Auto (Ätna, Castelmola, Gardini Naxos, Taormina...) oder Zug (Catania, Ätnaumrundung mit der Schmalspurbahn) viel unterwegs waren, haben wir die Ruhe inmitten der Zitronen/Orangenplantage sehr genossen. Das Zimmer war groß und sauber, das Gelände sehr gepflegt. Das sizilianische Frühstück wurde durch Salami, Schinken oder Käse sowie Joghurts erweitert und auf der Terrasse des Restaurants eingenommen. Da wir immer recht spät zurück gekehrt sind, haben wir das eigene Restaurant nicht besucht. Wir werden auf jeden Fall noch einmal dorthin reisen :-)

Beautiful scenery with views of Etna

Beautiful scenery with views of Etna. Safe parking area if you have your own car. Staff were very nice and very accommodating and the food served at the restaurant was delicious. Room was nice, clean and spacious and had free wi-fi.

Heerlijk verblijf op prachtige "hacienda".

Bijzonder sfeervolle "haciënda" te midden van de citroenbomen. Vriendelijk en gastvrij personeel. Uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet met verse producten. Heerlijk 4-gangen diner met siciliaanse gerechten (menu van de dag, geen a la carte). Buiten is het aangenaam verpozen onder de sfeervolle "veranda". Kamers zijn vrij donker, dus koel. Buitenmeubilair voor de kamers is aan vervanging toe. Goede uitvalsbasis voor een bezoek aan de Etna (erg duur in verhouding tot het gebodene), Catania, Taormina, Castiglione di Sicilia, Gole d' Alcantara (gratis toegang 100 meter na de betaalde ingang). Dorpjes / stadjes in de directe omgeving zijn over het algemeen lelijk en rommelig (vuilniszakken-bergen langs de kant van de weg). Tenslotte: Autorijden op Sicilië is niet voor iedereen een feest; het rijgedrag is nogal opportunistisch (rond Palermo heerst complete anarchie). Afkopen van eigen risico is daarom geen overbodige luxe.
