See the magnificent Spokane Falls, enjoy amusement park rides and go for a relaxing stroll in this important public park.

Riverfront Park is a wonderful 100-acre (40-hectare) park set on an island in the Spokane River. The park is home to some of the city’s top attractions, including its landmark clock tower and an exquisite early 20th century carousel. Ride the gondola over the stunning Spokane Falls and discover the area’s history on a narrated train tour.

Once the site of old railroad yards, the park was created for the 1974 World’s Fair Expo. Don’t miss the 155-foot (47-meter) stone clock tower dominating the center of the park, part of the former Great Northern Railroad Station.

Walk or cycle along Centennial Trail, a 37-mile (60-kilometer) paved trail that runs along the Spokane River and Spokane Falls. Take the kids to the park’s IMAX Theater, which features a 53-foot (16-meter) high screen. Glide down the enormous red slide shaped like a Radio Flyer wagon.

Stop by the pavilion in the summer for bumper cars, a Ferris wheel and other amusement park rides. Look for the Looff Carrousel, a hand-carved carrousel built in 1909, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

During the winter, the pavilion is converted into a superb outdoor skating rink called the Ice Palace. Rent ice skates and watch a curling match.

Take a seat on the Spokane Falls SkyRide and see spectacular views over City Hall, the Huntington Park Natural Area, the Spokane River and the dramatic falls. Visit between March and June when the water current is particularly powerful.

Listen to the conductor describe points of interest and the history of Spokane and Riverfront Park on a train tour. Riverfront Park hosts various exciting events year-round, including the Spokane Pride Parade and Rainbow Festival, as well as the Washington State Chinese Lantern Festival. Find out if any special events are taking place during your visit.

Find Riverfront Park in the heart of downtown Spokane. Check the official Riverfront Park website for information on seasonal activities and individual attraction fees.

Experience some of Spokane’s most picturesque natural scenery and engaging attractions at the Riverfront Park.
