Economic center with an urban setting, Downtown Rochester offers a variety of shops, bars, and restaurants. Enjoy the Mary Jemison Boat Tour on Genesee River or explore attractions like Strong National Museum of Play and High Falls.

Corn Hill
Step into Rochester's oldest neighborhood where Victorian and Italianate homes line peaceful tree-canopied streets. Corn Hill offers a living museum of 19th-century architecture with ornate gingerbread trim and wraparound porches. History buffs will appreciate this charming residential haven just minutes from downtown. The annual Corn Hill Arts Festival showcases local talent amid this cultural enclave. Stroll to Mary Jemison Landing or venture to nearby Blue Cross Arena. Intimate cafes housed in historic buildings serve farm-to-table cuisine while boutique shops offer unique Victorian-era reproductions.

Neighborhood of the Arts
Rochester's Neighborhood of the Arts transforms industrial spaces into a vibrant creative hub. The Memorial Art Gallery's 5,000-year collection anchors this district where artists work in converted brick warehouses. ARTWalk connects galleries, studios, and cultural venues throughout these tree-lined streets. Explore the Rochester Museum & Science Center for hands-on exhibits or catch performances at the historic Auditorium Theater. Monthly First Friday art walks extend gallery hours, offering chances to meet local artists. Village Gate Square buzzes with unique shops and cafes in a walkable, artistic atmosphere.

Rochester Central Business District
Rochester's Central Business District blends historic charm with modern energy. Limestone facades stand alongside sleek glass towers in this economic hub. The ornate Powers Building contrasts with the reflective Legacy Tower while Eastman Theatre hosts world-class performances nearby. Take in stunning architecture as you stroll the walkable downtown streets. Catch shows at Geva Theatre or Blue Cross Arena after exploring the Genesee River. During weekdays, the area buzzes with business professionals while evenings feature cultural events and upscale dining options.

Highland Park
Highland Park dazzles visitors with its magnificent 150-acre arboretum featuring over 1,200 lilac varieties that burst into fragrant bloom each May. Historic treasures like Warner Castle and the Frederick Douglass Memorial dot this peaceful Rochester neighborhood. Tree-lined residential streets surround the lush parkland, offering a glimpse into local life. The park's well-maintained paths wind through specialized gardens and ancient trees that form natural cathedrals of greenery. Nature enthusiasts can enjoy quiet reflection in secluded garden groves far from urban noise. The annual Lilac Festival transforms this normally tranquil area into Rochester's most colorful celebration.

Spark by Hilton Rochester University Area
Spark by Hilton Rochester University Area"The room can be a bit noisy if it faces the highway. I also wouldn’t recommend sleeping on the sofa bed, as it was very uncomfortable and quite loud. Overall, the room didn’t feel very clean. The breakfast was just okay, with only boiled eggs and bagels as the main options. Parking was very convenient"

Hampton Inn & Suites Rochester/Victor
Hampton Inn & Suites Rochester/Victor"Half was home from Maine the easy on and off highway options with great restaurants to choose from. Room was very clean, staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was simple and easy. Only issue is the shower floor was slippery as was the bathroom floor because the fan wasn’t strong enough. Great place to stay the night for a road trip."

Hampton Inn & Suites Rochester Downtown
Hampton Inn & Suites Rochester Downtown"Our stay was good and convenient for our visit to the museum of play. The rooms were very clean and well maintained and the staff was friendly. Rated it only a 3 based on the breakfast buffet experience. When selecting a hotel we chose this one as it included a breakfast buffet. People were sticking their bare hands in the waffle batter mix tub to scoop out the batter because the dispenser was clogged. The meat that was served was like a chopped up hot dog. We decided to just take an apple and...

Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Rochester - Victor by IHG
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Rochester - Victor by IHG"When we arrived they were overbooked so they did not have the room we reserved so they upgraded the bedroom to King suite. The pull out bed was a bit gross when we unfolded it there was two pellets of what looked like dog food on the centre of the bed. They also brought us pillows with no pillow cases. The only good thing was the person was quick to respond to providing us with the items. Kids like the hot tub/pool. Breakfast is really basic. Disappointed by the selection. Otherwise area is safe...

Courtyard by Marriott Rochester Brighton
Courtyard by Marriott Rochester Brighton"Beautiful location around a courtyard, we could hear and see the birds, and no traffic noise from the highway. What I would have liked to see is a full length mirror in the room so that the others in a party can get ready without three people trying to use the mirror at the bathroom counter, that area is just too congested."
