Rouen, Normandy hotel rooms at the Independent

"Breakfast was very good. Room was dusty, you could clearly see it on phone and on surfaces. May or may not be fixed by daily housekeeping but needs to be checked. Although spacious Would not consider our room in Luxury category. Location excellent. Staff some more helpful and smiles than others. "

"Rouen Amazing hotel! Check in was smooth and flexible. We were able to get our room around noon. Complimentary hot chocolate and water at the reception. Games and arcade in the lobby, beer wine chips for sale. Room is perfect, everything you need kitchenette and it’s spacious.l and clean. Bed is comfy. Just by the water. Definitely recommend. wifi is great"

"Well located on the edge of the town centre. 5 minutes walk to the cathedral and all the sites. Hotel parking a bit pricey, but safe and underground with direct access via elevator. Would recommend as was quiet and comfortable room."

"We enjoyed this hotel a lot! But the infrared sauna and gym closed for repairs after 2 nights which was disappointing. Another issue was the room temperature ~ they couldn’t drop it below 19 degrees as it was too early in the season (?) for them…this was in april and it was quite warm.the meals at the restaurant were wonderful, and the cheese dome is worthy of a view and ordering a raclette was outstanding. It is walkable distance from the downtown and the churches, and rouen itself was charming."

"Good location, next to the river, restaurants etc. Close to the old town as well so easy to commute by foot. There was a parking as well however it was €12 per night, which I thought should be free if you are a hotel guest. Rooms were clean and for the price I could not complain about anything. The only let down I would say was breakfast. No fruits, no veggies, no condiments like ketchup etc. It was super basic and I dont even know if its worth the money even if its cheap enough. You might be well better with a fresh baguette sandwich from a local boulangarie."
