Family run Quinta in the heart of the Douro Valley. Close to train station, but someone will pick you up there. Very homey atmosphere for breakfast and dinners made from family recipes. If we return to the area we will definitely stay here again. Friendly and accommodating.

The property is beautiful, the location breathtaking and so peaceful. All the staff were so welcoming and accommodating, it honestly felt like staying with family. The rooms are tiny but well thought out, they are kept spotlessly clean, the property has such great character while being comfortable and inviting. The pool was hard to leave, so tranqil. We enjoyed a beautifully home cooked meal, breakfast was also lovely. Angela, the manager is delightful and so helpful. This was definitely an experience that we will remember and we hope to return some day.

Quinta da Marka is just WOW!!! The mansion itself is well furnished, quiet, the grounds are well maintained and amazing. The view of the Douro is breathtaking. The pool area is also simply amazing overlooking the Douro. The food and the service we’ve had there we just out of this world. The staff is so amazing and are so helpful and friendly. We had planned on visiting a few wineries during our stay there but were so comfortable that we didn’t move. They also produce their own wine so we just chillax and enjoyed the wine, food, pool, view, and service The ac in rooms was working really well Very highly recommended.

Simplesmente espetacular!!!! Que local de sonho!!! Tudo perfeito e muito, muito caprichado !!!! Fantastisk oplevelse. Sætter stor pris på de få værelser og den meget personlige service. Ligger flot mellem vinmarker og Douro floden. Dog er beliggenheden ude på landet. Man kan tage toget til byen. Der serveres 3-retters middag. Man kan vælge mellem antal af retter, men der er ikke valgmulighed for selve retterne. Det er lokale retter der ændres hver dag. Gode indsigter i deres vine, som bl.a. kommer fra markerne lige uden for døren. Jeg anbefaler at tage flere overnatninger her. Det er en rigtig perle.

Angela, her mother Fatima (the cook), her sister Annabella, and the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful. They took care of us like we family. When I arrived with a cold, Angela brought me tea with honey and lemon. When I had a fall in Pinhao, Angela disinfected my scrapes and patched me up when I returned to the Quinta. Our laundry was done free of charge— washed, dried, and folded neatly. The views from the Quinta are amazing, and there are many places to sit, sip a glass of wine, and enjoy the view. We did a wine tasting here on our first night and enjoyed drinking their wines with dinner. The food was hearty and delicious. The set price dinner was 50 euros, but we were also able to order à la carte. Fatima made traditional codfish casserole and turkey with roasted potatoes while we were there, and crème brûlée and apple tarte. The Quinta is a quick 5 minute drive to Ferrao, the location of the closest train station. There are no other restaurants within walking distance, but there are a few in Pinhao and another local Quinta offers a set price dinner for twice the price at Quinta da Marka. Another guest was picked up at the train station so you don’t need a car.

Our stay at Quinta Da Marka was exceptional. This centuries-old vineyard overlooks the Douro River, with sweeping views in every direction. The accommodations are a newer addition and include seven comfortable, well-appointed rooms. Guests can also enjoy the pool, scenic river-view terraces, and walking paths through the vineyard. The family lives on site, and our host, Angela, was warm and welcoming. Her sister and mother staff the kitchen and visit guests during dinner to make sure everyone is enjoying the meal. The food and wine were outstanding. Breakfast offers prepared entrées for each guest, plus a generous buffet. I highly recommend this property and would gladly return on another trip to northern Portugal.

An exceptionally lovely setting with an extremely warm and friendly staff. All of them treated me as if I were a family member. The food was excellent, the room very comfortable, and the scenery spectacular.
