"The staff were very helpful, beyond the expectations even with the language barrier they try to help out. Clean hotel and quiet. I would recommend to stay in this hotel "
"The hotel is old and worn down. The common areas don't look like they've been updated in decades. There are few facilities and it is very poor value for money."
"Great spot away from the busy Tokyo area. The rooms and the hotel is special in its own way and has a lot of character. Felt like being in my grandparents home. Really enjoyed staying here and it made it incredibly easy to walk to and from the train station to get bus tickets. Would definitely tell friends to stay here in the future. "
"Kaji, front desk manager was amazing & so helpful -accommodations & meals were wonderful, buses were convenient , about 45 min each way to & from the ski areas"
"A beautiful tucked away spot in Hakuba! The surrounding forest was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the main resorts. About 15min walk to Goryu or they can take you in the shuttle. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and accommodated for, also a lovely spot focusing around keeping your dogs happy and taken care of. Spacious cabin feel and a decent restaurant with some nice options :) I would recommend this to anyone visiting in the winter or summer"

"Very friendly and helpful front desk. The tatami room was very clean as was the bathroom and private onsen on the terrace. Both the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast were excellent with seamless service. A very nice stay at an excellent hotel in an out of the way village."
"Lovely attentive staff, delightful traditional Japanese rooms. Great views and Onsen, close to the bus for Alpine route, though not much else nearby in terms of shops or eating. We would happily return.
Only improvement point suggested is that we could not contact the hotel in advance by email, web form or expedia to find out if dinner was available - we got no reply. The answer is that they can do dinner if you order it that morning. For us this was an unusual wide ranging Japanese meal for I think Y5000 each, meeting our vegetarian needs (sometimes difficult in Japan!). "

"The hotel was dated and smelled humid. There were few restaurants available outside the premises and not walkable distances. The service was average and not foreigners friendly. The onzen was great. "
