Niet aan te bevelen

De vloer was verschrikkelijk vies. Toen we aan de eigenaar vroegen of er wat aan gedaan kon worden sprong hij zowat uit zijn vel.Dat had hij in 25 jaar nog niet meegemaakt. Zijn vrouw bleef kalm en zou er voor zorgen. Toen we s'avonds terug kwamen was er grondig schoon gemaakt zelfs de trap naar boven. Toen we bedankte zij hij dat er niets anders was gedaan dan anders.

Never again!

Disappointing - it is only a pub with bedrooms! The food - a Cranberry, Brie and Mushroom Wellington was a puff pastry pie - and why were there nuts in it, paricularly as there was no indication of them being in it? Breakfast was basically OK but why no fruit juice on offer? Only one knife each when having both cooked breaksfast and toast. Slighty intimidating experience with landlord sitting nearby using laptop and wife reading a paper. Were we encroaching on their own space. The bathroom door would not close properly. There was mould around the base of the taps on the sink. The cold tap washer was almost useless to the extent that it had been too difficult to completely shut off the water which resulted in the Saniflo unit functioning automatically every couple of hours through the night [the cause of this I did not discover until the morning]. saniflo units are useful but they do make a unbearable noise when used during the night. In a bedroom for two people why was there only one chair? This means that to watch the televison someone has to sit on the bed. Unfortunately over the top of the television was a mirror so one has to watch oneself watching the television.

lovey old pub which has been refurished to detail

An old pub refurbished to great detail, situated in the lovey countryside, but not too far from Salisbury. The little villaage has alot of history which has not been well advertised. The service was very friendly and helpful, and the meals were excellant.
