The location was great ans the staff was friendly, beds were good. Downside was the guests we could hear theough the walls, dogs of other guests barking, people outside yelling in the courtyard all hours. The bathroom smelled like urine 100% of the time and we had to keep the door shut to keep the smell at bay. And our tv didnt work.

Very charming hotel. While it is not air conditioned, we entered our suite mid afternoon to find two large fans blowing, one in each room. Location is excellent and close to everything from grocery to restaurants to sites and the market. Staff is very friendly. Would highly recommend!

Staff was very helpful, hotel was clean. I was there during the heatwave and the apologized profusely that the historic property did not have air conditioning, but the fan they had set up in my room worked just fine for me (truly!!). Convenient location near all the sites I wanted to see. I was traveling via train and the hotel was just a short walk from a nearby tram station. Cannot speak to arriving via car but they did provide instructions for that.

We don't understand, how this hotel got 4 stars! I think we have never stayed in such a run down hotel and especially for so much money! We couldn't believe we were in Austria. The doors were not only broken and needed repainting badly, but they were also dirty, there was black mold on the tile in the bathroom, the towels were cheap, bad and had spots, no extra toilet paper, no extra pillows, no refrigerator, very small blankets, the carpet in the halls was totally disgusting, etc.... You advertise the hotel with a nice picture, and with proud statements of how many famous people stayed there- totally deceiving! We took our grandson to Austria for the first time and wanted him to have a nice experience, but the hotel took away a lot from it! The location is great and the building is great but we don't understand how the owners don't take a pride in making it beautiful and clean - Austria?!!!

Awesome hotel in the heart of the Old Town. A historic cinema still operates in the basement and first floors, and our son loved the popcorn machine outside the theater. Our room (superior double) was nice and large with an updated bathroom and plenty of space for 2 adults and a child. The staff were all very friendly and helpful in providing directions, making reservations, etc. Our son loved his cute present for reading the Leo book provided at check-in. A grocery store and numerous restaurants are just steps away. The funicular is about a 10-minute walk, as are most parts of the old town, and the new town is also about a 10-minute walk across the Mozart Bridge. The perfect spot to stay when visiting Salzburg!
