The owner was very nice but the house had many concerns. The first were the many stairs into and inside the room. As I have mobility issues, no stairs were mentioned in the listing. Additionally, the room has a strong mildew scent which the owner said was from the type of wood in the building. But well - if so, it was very overwhelming an unpleasant. He gave us a small candle to cover the scent but it was not effective. The fridge had mold all inside which was overpowering when you opened the door. We could not put our groceries inside because of the stench. We contacted the owner who did come and wipe down the fridge and place a cut lemon inside, but well - it was hardly enough to remove the stench. We did not feel it was safe to continue staying in the room after less than 18 hours there. We received a partial reimbursement but we still felt cheated. No response from the owner of hotels.com
