Because San Jose is nestled up high in the Central Valley, we do not have the hot coastal weather necessary to keep our pools warm. Even with a heating systems, open air pools do not maintain the temperature you would expect when you think of tropical Costa Rican beaches. Especially during windy months such as December, January and February, pool temperatures can even feel lower. San José has the perfect weather, averaging 25C year round.
