When we arrived at the hotel, I was up sold to a higher grade room, which I willingly agreed to and paid for. At 7:30 the next morning, I received a call saying: I was being transferred to another room, the upgrade should not have been offered as they had a prior reservation for the room I was in, and I had to be out by 10:00. They did say they would not charge for the one night upgrade; however, they would not send a bellhop to pick up the luggage and the only compensation was the offer of a cheap drink in the adjacent bar.

Hello, you left the comment at the wrong hotel, you left our hotel at 4:30am, other than that we don't do what you mention.

Comfortable, traditional, nice little outdoor pool, lovely authentic breakfast, convenient location for a quick stay when transferring to and from airport. They come pick you up any time your flight arrives, a nice service when visiting a country for the first time and not knowing what to expect upon arrival.

It is very old but very clean and the food was outstanding. I had a garden salad yesterday and it literally is the best garden salad I've ever eaten in my entire life and that's 70 years if I ever go back to Costa Rica I will definitely stay there.

the towels were stained! There were 4 of us but there were only two towels. very noisy hotel.

They picked us up at the airport very late at night with no trouble, waiting with a sign. The breakfast was tasty.

The property was clean but dated. Staff was very nice and though it was tucked back and attempted to be private it was near a busy and loud roadway. It was however very close and convenient to the San Jose Airport.

The staff are okay, not great. The property offers a 24 hour rickety shuttle to and from the airport, which is the only plus point. The breakfast was terrible. The flush tank takes forever to fill up and the bathtub took a solid 5 minutes to drain. The AC barely works and the lady (who I presume is the owner) at the restaurant is rude and racist.

Ok so I gave this five stars overall even though the individual categories weren’t five stars. We used this hotel because we arrived very late and didn’t want to drive to La Fortuna at night. We are a family of five. They met us at the airport with a private shuttle at midnight and brought us to the front desk of the hotel. The night manager was super nice and got us right into our room. We had three beds in there and didn’t need a second room which was awesome. The free breakfast was really great with rice and beans, eggs, cereal, fruit, toast, juice and coffee. They even called us a cab in the morning to take us to the car rental place. Would absolutely stay here again!

We were picked up at the airport by the hotel. The woman at check in was friendly and it was a very simple check-in process. Our room is nice. We had dinner at the restaurant off the lobby. It was very good. Its a great start to our stay

We atayed her the night before our flight. We arrived hot and tired. We had to ask for ice and it was grudgingly given. We sat out by the pool until the mosquitoes bothered us. The pool area was nice and had some chairs. We enjoyed being able to walk over to the attached brewery for dinner. The suttle in the early morning was waiting and wored out great.

We felt the property was very close to the airport and also downtown San Jose. The staff were extremely helpful and the restaurant was riquisimo. We will absolutely stay here again...

Hello Rosa. We are sorry about the confusion with the shuttle service, but it was not at all that we refused to provide it. Theres a limited sitting in the van, thats why we ask all our guests to send their flight information on advance if they want to be picked up at the airport, so we can coordinate we the driver each shuttle. The driver didnt have your information, and he called the hotel to check on your reservation. Again, we are sorry you misunderstood the situation.

The restaurant and brewery attached to the property were both excellent - highly recommend the restaurant for dinner. Older hotel but well looked after and charming. A little noisy but we were only there for one night and we were delighted with the place.

Great hotel to stay in after a late night flight, they picked us up with their complimentary shuttle service at 1:00am and provided us with everything we needed including their kind answers to our questions.

Really nice spot to cap off a great vacation in Costa Rica before our early morning flight. The staff was courteous, the grounds were gorgeous, the restaurant was excellent and the kombucha and craft beer at the restaurant were top notch. We’ll be back
